BMW Ultimate Driving Experience autocross
Went to this event today in a Chicago suburb.
A huge trailer probably to transport the expensive models. There were A LOT of cars (from BMW, right side of the photo showing a small portion) at least 30-40 of 2 and 5 series for the event. Behind the trailer is a pit stop for changing tires and such. There were about 10-12 different models to test drive on the street including i3, Z4, GT, 3, 5, 6, 7 series and SUVs. I was most surprised by i3. I had mixed feelings about the interior but overall I like the car a lot. Surprisingly good pick up and handing. If the price is right I may consider one. All the rest of them weren't that exciting including Z4 335is which was the biggest disappointment, sluggish, felt heavy and loose. In front of the pavilion, there were 4 cars you couldn't drive unfortunately for display. X4, M4, 4-series(I think), and i3 Inside the pavilion were sitting areas, food, beverage, promo TV screens and i8. Very hard to get in and out of the car and the door is not as easy to open/close. Very cool looking car, however. Actual track and the 2 series we auto-crossed with. And by far the coolest moment of the event! NEVER seen a such port-a-potty! There also was a cool education/intro center where it had a dome roof for 360 movie viewing (like in a planetarium) that showcased Harman Kardon audio with animation. Overall, had a nice break for a couple of hours. They are going to different cities so check if you can register for one. http://ude.bmwusa.com/ |

Hmmm... Almost as many pictures of the porta-potty as the cars!

Did this a few weeks ago in nj. I wish they let you drive around the track more but it was one of the coolest driving events I've attended.
I'm thinking about signing up for the driving clinic that's $650 and drive the new m3 and learn a little about car control. Anyone tried this already and is it worth it? |

DAMN VACATION!!!! hehe. I sighed up for this event and then realized 1 hour later I was going to be out of town. I was bummed. I bet it was awesome. I have been to other BMW events at the Autobahn and it was fun

Arlington race track. There were 2 M3s running in the other track (paid one) and that seemed quite fun. Maybe next time I will try that as well.
The Porta potty was THAT impressive. |

Sounds like fun.
As a little "dig" at BMW: wonder why there is not an "///M" sticker on the side of the porta-trailer? LOL -
