M3 E92 offered 1K below invoice
BMW of arlington offered me their alpine white M3 E92 at 1K below invoice
and yes i mean invoice not sticker http://www.bmwofarlington.com/New-In...oryId=23866261 but i am trying to get the melbourne red with black leather base car for invoice they also have a Interlagos with grey leather with a lot of options if you want to try to get that 1K below invoice ( which is probably since it has a higher markup) http://www.bmwofarlington.com/New-In...oryId=23611442 |

i think anyone buying should offer invoice
last autotrader search did showed 1500 '08 M3s across the states so there is no shortage of them and contrary to what most dealers tell you they are not selling like hotcakes |

I think that there is a trade off between getting the best deal and getting great continued service that not alot of people look at. So personally I had no problem picking up my E90 this week and paying 500 over invoice. It was worth it to me just for the ease of purchase (took 5 minutes of talk and got 500 over invoice on first offer) as well as the continued service that I will receive. I have already been directed to who to deal with in service and parts, have a standing 20% off in parts on my acct, got the typical freebes ect. These little things to me add up to greater value then me trying to get a below invoice deal. Hell, Im happy, they are happy and thats what counts I guess.

Yeah my servicing dealer...not the one I bought from as I got mine overseas thru military sales...they have 3 coupes on the lot, 1 vert, and 1 sedan which have been there oh about 60 days. Their showroom today was quiet as a church mouse. Brand new building too with 50+ service bays....most of the traffic was like me...service and maintenance.
They have a lovely Jerez black coupe for $71k (including a 20" Breyton Spirit wheel package all around which they've added $5k to the price to above for the lucky individual!) Funny thing is; I had the same wheels on my e46 M3 which I traded in 2006 and I could swear I paid only a hair over $2k for the wheels alone. So add a set of Continental or Michelins and what you got maybe $3200 for the lot...+$1800 profit for the dealer. And they wonder why I laugh at them....sometimes.

but my point is it's a reference on how much to pay the max i had heard was 4K off not it's 5 and 6K off don't let a dealer get away with trying to charge you sticker unless it has M-DCT or is an '09 and the more options, the more discount you can expect in my case the dealer is getting the car from another dealer and will sell at invoice and i am sure the car they are selling 1K below invoice is still making them money |

My local dealership has 6 on the lot and isn't close to selling one. They even have the Melbourne Red with Extended Bamboo that all the dealerships received when the M3s were first delivered in the US. I drove it the first day they received it. That was back in March. And they still have the audacity to try to squeeze MSRP out of me on a Jet Black M-DCT that has been sitting on their lot for over 2 months. To each his own I suppose. |

09 is around the corner so they must get rid of their 08 inventories. My dealer here have 4 M3 (combination of 90 and 92) but all MT with less options. I think DCT's are still not that many.

My local dealer has two convertibles, one MDCT sittng, two sedans, and two coupes. One of the coupes I know has been there for many months now. My sales buddy told me the sedans are a pain in the ass to move, said something about BMW not marketing them right. Dont know If I agree. Anyways, yeah, 5-6K off would be very easy. 1k off of an 09 sounds about right. Hmmmmmmmm, maybe 8-9K by December, wow. Of course Im just speculating.
One note, of course times were different, and money wasnt what it is today. He did mention that the E46 launch was such a huge wave, couldnt even keep cars on the lot, of course almost all ordered individually. I agree, because of the economy, competition, and other factors its hard to justify a 70K car. Now it its a 60K car its more tolerable for us mere mortals money wise. My nickel. |

I just picked my E90 up 6 days ago. IB pretty much fully loaded. Took 5 minutes no negotiations and received almost $5K off of MSRP and free M mats/M Keychain too. Car had been on lot for 91 Days, but was exactly what I was wanting.
I knew if had waited till September I could probably get it below invoice, but for me I would rather pay a little more now (a few hundred over invoice) and get exactly what I want versus saving maybe an extra $1K later and having to accept what was left in the local market. T. |
