What about a 4.10 differential like the Dinan? It's cheaper than an exhaust.

Pretty much sums up how i feel After intake, pulley, midpipe, muffler, and tune, i've probably spent about $5-6K and probably netted 30-40whp ......for $10k you could possibly net 150whp..........wish i knew that 2 yrs ago

Gearing changes dont extract any extra horsepower/torque out of the engine, you trade up top speed for acceleration..but it will haul ass off a line. |

I recommend the test pipes, underdrive pulley and filter as the best bang for the buck. 25 rwhp for less than $1000 and you might save a little if you find a used pulley.
Spend another $1000 on a tune and you should get smoother driveability and another 10 rwhp. Just updating the engine operating software to the latest version reportedly improves driveability and costs just a couple of hours of labor if you can find a shop that will do it. I would like to do this on my 08 but it is modded and under CPO so I do not want to take it to a dealer and have not found any independent shops in the NH/MA area that can do it. Apparently any shop with Autologic equipment can do it. I spent about $2500 on an aftermarket x-pipe to which I added quad resonators, a used underdrive pulley, a K&N filter, and Vishnu Procede with water/meth injection and am content with the performance of the car now --power is probably up by around 15%. If you think you might buy a supercharger, skip the tune and pulley since those two items would be replaced with the SC kit. The SC kit does cost significantly more, but you get so much more power that the cost per rwhp averages out well. It is also the only way to get big power in these cars. Spending that much simply is not an option for me at present, but maybe in a couple of years I will look for a used kit. |

Short of buying a supercharger; test pipes and a tune are all you really need. This is a $1500 cost for 20-30 hp, great sound, and no SES.

Add the ESS E-Flash and you can be within the 400whp-club in no time.

Please show a 400 rwhp dyno on a Dynojet in SAE with the listed mods. In my 2 years here, I have seen only one and that was posted by Mike Benvo. More such results would be encouraging.

Hey that's my car :P
Here's another graph overlapping 3 400+whp SAE runs. YMMV but another reason I like EAS is that their dyno procedure is rock solid and consistent. The car is always strapped down the same way, dynoed in the same gear, with the same fans, blowing in the same locations, with the same delay in between runs and so on. Anyways, the recipe for power is quite simple really; here's what I have: Macht Schnell Intake Macht Schnell Pullies Macht Schnell test pipes Epic Tune The car also Supersprint mufflers but after comparing dynos with my old E90 (stock muffler) I doesn't look like they are doing anything as far as power goes. I love them dearly though but the MS stuff is where the HP came from |

It is a great dyno. Have Pencilgeek put it in the dynodatabase. There are no 400 rwho Dynojet SAE dynos in it yet for naturally aspirated stock displacement cars. This is just the second such dyno that has ben posted on the forums in the two years that I have ben watching. Hopefully 400 rwhp Dynojet SAE is the new 390 rwhp Dynojet SAE and there will be more to come.

My times have been constantly improving thus far and without data acquisition it's difficult to say BUT I did notice one undeniable improvement at Auto Club Speedway: I can get the tach needle to hit 160 before slowing down into T1! The car would only do low to mid 150s before the bolt-ons. (to those unacquainted with the ACS Roval, it's a hp track) |

Sorry, we do not have a stock baseline of Kaiv's M3. Only the end result.

Member pencilgeek can add dynos to the dyno database. Here is a link to the database:

what do you mean by top speed being affected? because of the different gearing? so now i can't go 155 anymore (not that i ever did)
