UCP Clutch Petal

I was reading in the sponsor section about UCP's all-aluminum short-throw clutch pedal. Does anyone have any experience with it or care to comment?

I have it and love it. It is a little tedious to install, but a damn fine piece, both in machining and instruction.

We have done quite a bit of them. Replacing the plastic OEM one really helps get the slop out of the pedal and more feel. Its also has 3 mounting point for pedal feel adjust ability.

I have one. Honestly I feel no difference between the pedal itself. I did the clutch spring removal first and then swapped to this pedal later and it felt exactly the same. I may have to add the clutch spring back in to feel a difference.

We have one on the EAS racecar and it's the world of difference.

UCP designer is a World Challenge driver and particulates regularly in BMW CCA as well as instructor.

Well obviously a vendor and the company that built it will say it makes a huge difference.

Maybe with the spring in place that allows for adjustment makes a big difference, but without that spring, it feels pretty much identical to stock (without the spring).

What's the purpose of the spring removal in the first place? Do you mind educating me?

I'm also interested in feedback on this piece, I've had my car about three weeks now and the clutch leaves something to be desired.

Anybody else have one of these installed that previously had the spring removed? I'm wondering if this part will make enough of a difference to warrant its price tag.

Thanks. I read the first thread in my search but missed the second one. Good info. Looks like I'm going to get it in my quest to improve shift times and overall clutch feel.

I installed mine last fall and absolutely love it. As aforementioned, it's a bit of a pain to install, but once it's in you'll like it. I would suggest testing out the options you have with it as everyone's is different. I have mine on the first hole, the farthest to the floorboard) and kept the springs on, as I didn't like how mushy it was without the spring. I also kept the clutch stop I already had on the car from Burger Motorsports; I didn't like the one with the kit. Before installing, the clutch pedal was higher than the brake, after the install it's lower. For me, it saves the left hip when shifting a lot. Here's my write up on it from last year. Good luck!
