Why do people in Houston always want to race me?
I really don't get why these fools that drive slower cars want to flex on me every time I am in Houston. This never happens to me in San Antonio or Laredo. This afternoon on I-45 going north by BMW North this blacked out Dodge Nitro R/T was on my bumper and then pulled next to me and gunned it. Just now after dinner, this guy in a red Mazda 3, too dark to tell if it was a MazdaSpeed 3 rev'ed his engine and paced next to me on the feeder road. Why even try it when you know you don't have a chance? Right before I just got home I drove up next to a yellow lambo with plates that said "KILLRB" and I didn't even think about it, because I know I would get smoked. So please people, why why do these fools in Houston do it? LOL!!!

Happens to me all the time I hate that my M is my DD since some idiot wants to race me on a daily basis.
Some recent incidents: A couple of weeks ago bikes were pulling up next to me on 610 and accelerating on one wheel; an Audi R8 V10 thought it'd be a good idea to race me on San Felipe even though I was doing 30 with my dad in the car; I got tailgated last weekend all the way down 45 to Nasa 1 by some kids that wanted to race. I've come to the realization that ignoring these idiots is the best thing to do since their irritation level just rises! Now, when a lambo pulls up next to you you've just gotta floor it and hope for the best Quote:

They just want to see your car in action. I get excited when I see a ferrari or lambo, but for some people a m3 is their lambo. Just give them a lil taste.

I'm glad to know it's not just me. I happened on a regular when I was in the 650i and now it's just beyond control. I agree with a earlier statement.....they just want to see your car in action. I had a fool about a hour ago in a red G37 wait for me to move over one lane before he speeds by......now we were on crowded ass hwy 6. I also think some of them want to say they out paced a ///M3 to justify the why they didn't buy one..........yeah right...........Phil

Don't feel alone. Happens to me twice a week. As great as the M3 is, its also a "dick" magnet.

I haven't had anyone try to race me. I've had a few people pull up to me, give a nod, and then give it a little gas, though. Its happened with a gorgeous late 60s Mustang, a Testarossa, and a brand new, temp-tagged GT3 (on Eldridge, black on black, carbon brakes, matching yellow dials.. lol) in the last week or so. Its always been safe, and its been definitely not an issue with me.
And damn... that mustang is louuddddd.

Me too, a few weeks ago a toyota scion 2dr on I10 west tried to race me several times. HE WAS ON A DONUT SPARE. Out of concern for public safety I slowed down to keep him from killing somone. Never engaging him at all.
In the higher end of gene pool I got into a SAFE cat and mouse with a Diablo one night on the toll road. Both of us knowing these are powerful cars kept it in check. I always stayed behind him to show respect that his car was faster. Responsible fun. |
