Brake Dust not that bad?

I noticed in the "Things I hate about my M3" thread there was several mentions about bad brake dust. I have had my M3 about 2 months and have been amazed at how little brake dust I have. In my previous 5 BMWs (1 E90, 2 E46, 2 E36) the brake dust was always horrible. I couldn't believe how much less My E90 M3 has. When I clean my wheels it's hardly there. I did just get a full brake job under maintenance but it didn't change anything from before the brake job.

So am I nuts or is there an explanation?

your nuts. you dont notice it because you are cleaning your wheels every other day like a neurotic M3 owner. i have piles of brake chunks on mine after a track day.

Hahah. Too funny. No, really I don't, that's the crazy thing. I am so freakin busy at work that I only wash it once a week at the most. I don't track it but would still expect more dust. It honestly isn't bad at all.

+1, before I went with Hawks, my wheels would have so much brake dust with the OEM pads.

Yeah OEM pads are bad for dust. With my Brembos and Hawk pads, the dust has dropped dramatically.

HAHA. Just get some Hawk HPS pads for the stockers. Should produce the same results, dust wise.

The brake dust is there for sure but I'll agree that it is alot less than other BMW cars. Depending on how much and how hard I drive there could be little or alot after awhile

When I had my '09 M3 it came with the 220M wheels and noticed that brake dust are not bad. Now that my '11 had the ZCP wheels the brake dust are more noticeable.
