Sim Racing

Anyone here into sim racing (i.e. iRacing, Netkar pro, rFactor, etc)? If not i highly suggest you give it a try if you love racing. I've been racing on iracing since its beta stage back in 07. Its lots of fun and very competitive.

I've been using iracing for about 4 months. Havent' actually raced yet, still getting the setup together. But, have been using it to learn any new tracks I visit in real life and get a heads up on reference points and line. Once I finish my setup I'll get into the road racing series.

Is the setup process that complicated? I've been curious about trying it.

not complicated, just researching seats/stands monitors, video cards. It can get a bit pricey to have a really good setup. But you can drive with just about anything and a wheel. just have other priorities at the moment.

It's become my number one hobby over the past several years especially after I stopped racing in skip barber race series full time in real life.

It can become expensive... I've already spent a lot on my setup. It's great to be able to practice/ race whenever you want.

Yes I agree. Also Assetto Corsa should be exceptional when it's released.

How is handling realism in iracing? I was going to try it last year, but after seeing a lot of complaints about handling, I decided to stick with rfactor 2, which is reasonably realistic. Also, does it have cars with similar handling characteristics to M3?
