E92 Thoughts
Okay
Dealer that I am talking to about an 09 E90 for $60k also has an 09 E92 for $65,733. Build date is 9/24/08. Price is with the trunk cash so no .9% financing (MSRP was $72,770). Here are the specs Jerez Black Metallic Black Novillo Leather Cold Weather Package Premium Package (Carbon Leather Interior Trim) Technology Package DCT 19" Forged and polished Double Spoke wheels Satellite radio Enhanced Premium Sound Dealer said that the coupe was "reported as a demo" on 8/25/09 but that "no one test drives the vehicle without a sales advisor," the dealer "drives 1st to get the engine seated and warm, " and "this vehicle has never been over 4 grand on the tach." Coupe has 476 miles on it but because it was "reported as a demo" it carries an extra 3 months of Warranty (started on 8/25/2009) and 5k miles. Appreciate any thoughts. Torn between this and the E90 sedan. Thanks in advance. |

I like the deal on the E90 sedan..I don't trust the dealer's statements...they may be there to warm it up but they want the sale and worrying about getting the tach up during a drive is a low priority.

Okay Got a quote from another D.C. area dealer.
New E92 that he doesn't have in stock but that he can get from another out of state dealer. MSRP $73,670. Originally his sale price was $70,695.00 with .9% financing. I then told him that I had a couple other D.C. area dealers, who were offering me closer to 65K. He said that the only way he could get below $70,695 is to "punch" the car and treat it as a demo. That way, he has extra cash from BMW that enables him to get the price down to $68696.80. When I asked about trunk money, he said that BMW was not offering any trunk money (he wouldn't budge on this assertion). Here are the specs -- Jerez Black Metallic Black Novillo Leather Cold Weather Package Premium Package (Carbon Leather interior trim) Technology Package Double-clutch Transmission 19" wheels w/performance tires Park Distance Control (rear) Satellite radio w/1 year sub. iPod and USB adapter Smartphone Integration Enhanced Premium Sound Thoughts? Has anyone heard about "punching" a car. Still have the other E92 that has a few less options, but is basically the same car for $65,733, albeit at 476 miles on it and a demo. I decided against the E90 sedan because it doesn't have DCT (a pain to drive stick in the start and stop commute into DC). I still think there is room for this dealer to go down in price, but he appears to be rigid. He also claims he has the additional transportation cost to get the car from out of state. Thanks in advance. |

If the effective date of him punching it as a demo is now-ish, and it knocks a few grand off that seems like a slam dunk.
If the effective date of the demo designation has to be when they recieved it, and that is several months ago, I guess you'd have to weight the reduction in the warranty/maintenance periods with the savings. Again, if it's only a few months, I wouldn't really care. Good luck!

I'd offer the $60K for the "demo" E92 or $57K for the new E90, since both would be cash deals. Beggers (dealer) cant be choosers.
I would take the E90 for the $57K. I took an E92 M3 demo car with 100 miles for a test drive when I ordered my car over a year ago next to the dealer's highway.... I hit the speed limiter over 160mph with the sales guy. Not that it really matters since it would still have warranty. |

European Delivery
Hey Everyone,
I just joined this great forum this morning..Currently leasing an IS350 but I'm just dying to get into a M3. I was contemplating going with the European Delivery. How exactly does it work, do I get to negotioate the bottom line price with the dealer and then get the discount, or is it a straight discount off sticker price? Thanks |
