How long will it take to get your new M3

for some so-called "big" and "famous" dealer, they haven't even started taking the deposit yet (like the Beverly Hills BMW).

hm, the M3 comes out next year (spring) as the 2009 model year. The 2011 model will come out in the fall of 2010.
So, we're talking 2.5 years, not 4 years...
And yes, I have seen it take them almost a year to figure out the fuel pump on the 335 (still an issue), just issued a bulleting on the steering thing for the 06 325 (2 years later), and so on...

I'll let them do the work...

I won't debate specific problems on specific models. Sure BMW as all companies do has and will have problems. Personally with the fantastic warranty BMW has I just don't think yours is a good reason to put off a purchase. On the release date/model year you are wrong. Car will come out in the EU around Sept. of this year, likely to be called a 2007 model. I have heard rumors of a 2007 calendar year or early 2008 calendar year launch in the US. Either way, on either side of the pond, it will not be a 2009 model year designation.

Sure...I was inpatient with my e90 (May 2005) and then they had the September surprise, then 328/335 surprise a year and a half later...
325 (N52 engine) lasted for a year and a half in the USA. If I were patient, I would have had the 335 now...
That being said, I AM happy with my car...

As for your comment above -- call it a 2007, 2008 or 2009...whatever -- it will be here in 2008, and 2011 model (fall 2010 production) will be 2.5 years away as I calculated... By then, it may have 444 HP instead of 414, and a thing (like the thumb rests on the September 2005 e90 steering wheel, or comfort access...) that I may like...
