I also greatly prefer the feel of 275's in the front and 285's or larger in the rear but... on wider wheels.

Strictly for an autocross set-up, wouldn't you want as much tire as possible - if you are using ZCP GTS wheels for argument sake.

Now you need to decide which tire you want... That size may work but Michelin PSS are not available in 285/30/19. That is one of the reasons that I recommended 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 combo. I would go with Michelin PSS for street only use and Yokohama ad08r for street/track. Neither of which are available in 285/30/19.

I am running the new Toyo Proxes T1 Sport in the GTS sizes and I ran the Continental 5Ps in the GTS sizes both are an excellent alternative to the Mich PSS which I waited in vain for.
The Conti 5Ps I felt were as good and in some tests a tad better than the PSS, also more expensive. The Toyo T1 Sports have a real nice stiff sidewall and excellent grip. Not bad for the price. Dave

Could you run 265 or 275 up front with 285/30 rear to help with the balance? 255/35 seems kinda narrow.

I run 265/30 in front. A lot have said you can run 275/30 in front. With 265/30s, my sidewalls are nicely squared up with the rims. I am fairly certain with 275s, you will see a little muffin top. |

I see. I'll probably run 265/30 front and 295/30 rear AD08R since they run a little wide anyways.

OK, I have a question, hopefully some members with experience can clue me in
I bought an M3 that had AG M359s on it which I really like. Currently, it has OEM sized PS2 tires on it and runs a 12.5mm turner spacer in the rear (ET25 without spacer, same as OEM ZCP). My question is, how much tire can I fit without rubbing in the back? I plan to track the car about 6x per year as well as DD the car, so I prefer to run extreme summer tires. My options as I see them are RE11 in stock sizes AD08R in 255/275 (would really like to try this if I can fit it) The car is on OEM ZCP suspension. Thank you for any feedback. |

265/30 in front, 285/30 in rear. Perfect fit, stagger, grip, and appearance.

OP: what makes you think you need wider tires? Or is this purely for aesthetics?

It depends on the wheel you have. On stock 9in ZCP wheel, I wouldn't put a tire wider than 255. Especially the AD08 run much wider than a PSS or PS2 for example.

Autocrossers stuff as wide a tire they can on any rim. This is not new, and it produces faster times at the expense of turn in and 'feel'.
I wouldn't recommend that type of setup for the street though. You don't need that much tire for the street. |

Ya AD08's do run pretty wide. I'll just go with 255/275 add some spacers and do the stud conversion.

265/30 and 275/30 is my current setup. Track testing is slotted for next month.

Those sizes are not a full half inch stagger front to rear so the car might think the rear is going faster than the front and intervene with dtc. Dynamic tractuon control.
