BMW In Canada's Direction?

Should we be concerned?Where does this leave the M cars?It seems that BMW is only concerned about volume not the enthusiast market!

Is this really a surprise? They are in business to make money and the only reason they can engineer an M3 is because they are selling tons of X3, X5, and 3 Series to generate profit. As an enthousiast, consider yourself lucky that they sell so many AWD vehicles so that they can produce a performance car like the M3 at affordable price. Ferrari produces no more than a few thousands cars per year and they are all supercars but only a few can actually afford them.

I've been a BMW fan for many years; but it does appear that sales volume and profitibility are top of BMWs corporate list these days. Of course, profits are necessary; and as pmeloche says, the x vehicles make it possible for BMW to make the M3 for us.

Any M genetics require rear wheel drive

Anything else is an Audi, thats why I didnt buy an Audi

Doesnt surprise me that they are out of touch with a core group of customers,.pretty typical group of people who think they know their customers but I challenge them to talk to any M owner, they prob never have

Hmmmm, maybe a phone call is due to one of those idiots

I've had a AWD car, you can rarely get it all right without sacrificing something.

RS4 etc all sacrifice some of the high end driveability for AWD performance.

For a 335 sure who cares. These are M cars, they are supposed to be the sharp edge of BMW performance

Why do I need AWD when my M3 performs as good or better than an AWD car already in the winter

Pure marketing BS and an opportunity to increase margin on a car.
