I should also say that beauty is maybe sixth on my list, behind go, stop, handle, comfort and "quiet" (in the sense that I'll allow it to be a bit loud, as long as it's musical). Oh. Do I think the CTS-V and the M3 are in the same league? Of course. So would anyone else who wasn't a Kool-Aid drinker for a particular brand. I expect the CTS-V to play broadsword to the bimmer's rapier. One can debate the merits of either weapon in a battle, but you can't declare that each is not a serious and important weapon. Bruce |

Yes, kudos to them...They are making different cars now than they used to, no doubt. It has nothing to do with my BMW and it's Ring time.....it has to do with my opinion of American cars vs. German cars. That's it.

I like the new CTS-V.....thats gonna be a wicked ride..... Its power to weight is slightly better than the M3....around 7.6 for the caddy and 8.6 for the M....so it should beat it in a drag race... I am surprised about the lap time around the ring for such a heavy car.... It will be interesting to see its times at other well known circuits....
Another factor in the caddy's favor is how easy it will be to bump up the HP....some tuning and a pulley could be 100hp?

Some time ago we had this article: http://www.reifenpresse.de/CDML007/e...ecID=14471.com
It mentions that also wet handling has been taken into account. IMO that's new over the old Pilot Sport Cup. Best regards, south

In case you're referring to the Supertest, they more or less cited what BMW has told 'em: They said something along the lines of 'it's not a ultra sport tire like the Corsas, it's just the best street tire.' In the wet handling chapter they mentioned that the achieved time seems to confirm BMW's statement. Best regards, south

This will be interesting to see what the guys at Top Gear have to say about the CTS-V when they finally review it. I for one, am happy that GM is finally making a serious sports sedan that does not embarass itself when compared to BMW and Mercedes.

But it will never look as good as the E46 M3. Now GM just has to make a V-series out of the upcoming CTS coupe. |

yeah, I still don't like the styling on the Cadi either, but they deserve credit for making it perform so well

The CTS-V I think is a great car, It's nice to see the Domestic market returning to making quality products. But with the CAFE standards coming soon I think the Euro market will once again be the only ones left in the competition.
