Actually, it was lucky me... She wanted an X5, but I'm the one that bought the ///M. I sold my E46 for a huge pile of cash, so I took the extra money and put it down on the X5, allowed for us to have the ///M for basically no extra money. Besides, I told the wife that if I sold the E46, I had to buy an SUV that I would enjoy driving (we were a 1 vehicle family for a bit). Pic of the E46 for reference... It was an '03 330i ZHP, full Dinan setup with a ton of other aftermarket too... A pretty sweet car.

Hah! Thanks man, Florida living is pretty nice, and cheap, otherwise I wouldn't have nearly as nice a house! And trust me, there are still plenty of bills each month.

Ps. I have the sun cover. Can't remember I've used it ones except for playing with the button so nothing to worry about if you ask me...
Thanks man... The car had 43,201 miles on it when she rolled off the trailer at my house, paid just under $41,500 for the car. I definitely didn't steal it, but for the ease of the transaction and how genuine the seller was, I can't complain one bit.

Yep, I had no idea how much I was in love with this color until I saw this car, and it was raining that day. And now that its in the sunshine, holy crap! I initially wanted a Silverstone car to match the X5, but glad I got this instead.

Other than your LMB, I'd say we have twins

Like you, I said I wouldn't get any real mods but this dang board gets infectious and already I have my eyes on a few things I'm giving serious thought to adding...

Enjoy the car...she's a keeper!
Sweet man, I'll have to look for your car, I didn't see you post a new thread... What did you end up with?! And congrats to you as well!!

Congrats on the new car. Lemans was my first choice, but I couldn't find an 6MT with low miles and all the options. Instead I picked up my Silverstone II with Paladium interior, Comfort Conv., ZCP, moonroof, and winter with 37k miles a couple of weeks ago.

Interesting, that wasn't a private owner car in Southern California was it? I looked at a very similar car on auto trader, but couldn't get the seller to contact me after repeated attempts. If that's the car, looks great!

I had to find her all the way up in Seattle, but the transaction was impeccable and the transport was awesome.

I searched nationwide and finally found a car that was damn near the "unicorn" I wanted. 2011 E90, Lemans Blue over Black. DCT transmission, Competition, Premium 2, Convenience, and Cold Weather, along with moonroof and premium sound. Can anyone tell me if I'd actually get any other options by having the Tech package? From what I can tell, it'd all be redundant options at this point??! The only other things I wanted were the window shades, and ideally Beige or Palladium leather...

I'll do a few mods, but she'll remain mostly stock. Other than that, glad to be here to share ideas, DIY tech info, and hopefully pick up some mods.

Pic for good measure...

Sick. I love that color. Where in Seattle did you find it?

Oh yes, I love modding cars, just a few subtle touches to make it individual. My typical style is what I like to call "OEM upgraded"... Many of the mods in my E46 wouldn't have even been noticeable to those that didn't know the car. I don't like too many flashy mods. For instance, I won't do wheels on this car. Love the 359s (see the pic of my E46 above...)

Thank you sir, I tend to agree with you. A perfect stable in my book.

Hah!! Well, I don't have a huge mod budget, at least not right now. Mods will be slow on this car, but that's ok, I'm going to take my time and keep this car for quite a while. Last night, the wife got the garage, but I did the first detail/wax on the M3 today, so I'll probably take the garage tonight.

Private seller, guy lived just East of Seattle, Sammamish to be exact. I work on a ship on the West Coast, and I just got off the ship a couple weeks ago, so it worked out well, I was actually able to view and drive the car before flying home to Florida.

Not SoCal, I got it outside of Philly from a performance dealer and brought it back to Charlotte. Like you I did want the rear sunshades, but that was the only convenience I had to give up, otherwise the car is perfect. I am doing the manual rear window shade mod for our 1 month old though.

I'm kinda thankful I didn't get the Lemans, I think it might have matched my Laguna Blue S2000 a little too closely

P.S. I love the lip on the X5M; I wish I could convince my wife we need an X5M after our X1 lease is up

Congrats on the car and the little one. I have two girls myself. Funny you mention the S2K, I'm trying to sell my brother's car at the moment. Y2K S2K, white over tan. Fun little car!

I posted this: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1095632

back in February...I think we have many of the same options (mine has comp, full leather, cold weather, premium, tech, DCT, moonroof, rear power shades, PDC, & enhanced sound...the only mods were clear bra, Pinnacle F1 ceramic window tint, painted black gills/grills & LED bulbs.
Love the car so far...as I said, being on this board only gets you thinking of what mods you can add...you've been warned!
Enjoy your car...she's gorgeous!

Thanks, she's amazing, and fits a lot better in the ///M than the S2k. I've owned the S2k since 2006 new, and thankfully my wife understands that it will always be a car I won, so the M3 was an addition, not an upgrade

We'll start looking for the next BMW in June '16 when the X1 lease is almost up. Hopefully the X5 will meet our family needs (2x 65lbs dogs, 1 infant, and a planned second).

Enjoy the ///M3, there's no doubt in my mind that you've picked the perfect car.

Sounds like a great car, didn't know you got Ranger's car. It is definitely one I considered, but just couldn't bring myself to do Space Grey. A gorgeous color, I just wanted something brighter. I too have the Pinnacle F1 tint, I put it on all my vehicles, luckily the M3 had it already.

Did you say you WON the S2000? I'm assuming that was a typo for "own"...? I definitely say that you should get into an X5, its a great vehicle. We had a brand new F15 X5 35i as a loaner and it was nice. Would love to see or drive a well optioned F85 X5///M. As for having two kids, you'll definitely want/need the extra space. We bought a '12 X3 when our first daughter was born, and it was great, but glad we have the bigger X5 now.
