necessary things for installing LSD & final drive

I'm preparing to install aftermarket LSD & final drive(OS giken & 3.45, may be) on my 2011 M3 /w DCT

What are the necessary parts(for replacement or modifying) to install these?

go to http://diffsonline.com/differential-service-parts/ they have a rebuild kit. A lot of it depends on the mileage of your car. Being a 2011 I would probably get the seals and associated hardware. Give them a call.

Someone mentioned in a similar thread recently that since you are DCT you will have to have your transmission software custom coded to accomodate the new shift points else risk a money shift that would otherwise be prevented by the controller.

Is shim set necessary to install?
I can't find shim set for E92 M3.

you will find this out when you install it (and do have the tools and knowledge to measure it).
just as you do not know if and which shims you need when setting valve clearance on an s54.

so yes, you should get the according shimset... that is not available from bmw indeed.

i just built my s3.62 with custom drexler gt3 lsd... will install it soon together with a dct software remap that is also required for the short gearing.

As I know, E92 M3 diff uses angular bearings on pinion and carrier. right?
What's the difference between angular and roller bearing?
