Also, sparkyg I have to agree with BMRLVR on this, I would hardly describe Calgary or Edmonton as 'traffic free' |

What would it take to homologate this car to stay in the US.
I am in Los Angeles and I think I have seen it at autotalent. I may be interested

http://icsw.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/ It may be beneficial to contact one of the registered importers on the list closest to you. None of this is official and I would double-check with someone who has previous experience, but from what I understand the process to import a vehicle from Canada is to first obtain a letter from BMW with the VIN stating the car was manufactured for the Canadian market and meets US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. I already have the letter from BMW Canada stating that the only change required is a US spec speedometer, which would need to be installed at a BMW dealer. Aside from that the car meets all US regulations. You do not have to do an EPA inspection. All the documents are sent to US customs, along with the receipt for the speedometer, you'll have to pay a small duty charge (I think 2.5%), and that's pretty much it. Great price. If only I was not too lazy to sell my Z4MC privately... I would have jumped all over this before I got my M3.

I've reduced the price again to $70,000CAD OBO, I have a replacement car lined up and this needs to go to clear up space. If anyone is interested let me know, now is the time to buy. Otherwise the car gets parted out here in the States which would be a real shame.

Need to decide this week whether to part the car out or not, so make me an offer guys.
I should add that if I do part the car out I'll soon be selling a stock Canadian M3 that has never seen a winter for a very low price, so let me know if you or someone you know is interested. Last edited by nd54; 02-21-2011 at 06:58 PM.. |

Been looking for an M3 and saw your post
I read your first post twice and couldn't determine if it was a DCT or 6SP manual ?? I'm assuming car is still Canadian registered/inspected? |
