Not right away, and not for everything...removing any cats from the system will raise question with the service advisor/manager. So if you have any CELs related - or can be attirbuted to the mod - then you run a higher likely hood of being denied warranty service.

Really, if you are looking for performance - you'll need to have all cats removed a tune done. Do that, kiss goodbye to the warranty on the power and drivetrain. If you just want looks/sound, just get an 'axle back' kit...

It's important to remember that no single modification will void the entire warranty. Certainly, if you replace the suspension and try to get control arm bushings replaced under warranty, BMW will not cover it. But if you replace the exhaust and have issues with your iDrive unit or even your engine that is clearly not related to the exhaust installation, BMW cannot refuse warranty work. It is the dealer's prerogative to prove and explain to the customer that a modification is cause for warranty denial.
