List of "must haves" in Bimmer tool box
Hello all,
I have started my "Bimmer" tool box with the following essentials:
but was wondering what else you guys would recommend I should add at this point, especially if someone could recommend a set of ratchet/sockets that would cover most of the basic needs. As I understand that the tools needed are a function of the use intended, let me just describe that: I am only planning on doing basic work such as: break pads, wheel swap, break fluid, oil changes, etc... Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

I would get a set of sockets made specifically to protect wheels like these:
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-M3-...l_Tire/ES6225/ It's a small price to pay to not have scratched and gouged wheels. |

So far I am using a hockey puck and it works great too but your solution would be more elegant...

Something like this -- a magnetic parts picker upper. There's a lot of stuff BMW crammed into not a lot of space. I always seem to be dropping things under the hood. This helps me pick them up. Also, one with a claw at the end would be good for things that aren't metallic.
And band-aids. Cheers.

Anyone know where to order one of those jack adapters? I cut a block of wood to fit in the plastic hole, but it doesn't work that great. Looking for something better quality and more durable then a piece of wood.

Torque wrench
Precision Instruments make some high quality wrenches that are not inexpensive, but very reasonable for the quality. Google "Precision Instruments C3FR250F" for a good one. There are several styles and ranges. I got mine from TheToolWarehouse.net, but there are many vendors.
