Wouldn't this have been easier to do if you took off that plastic backing before putting on the 3M? Or is that not really possible without taking apart the entire seat?

Anyway, I think that looks great, nice matte cf look! Do you have the cf effect leather trim? If so, I think this is an awesome interior mod.

It would have been easier but I didn't want to deal with looking for clips because the two that hold it on are hard to come off and are one use only.

I have aluminum trim but I decided to wrap parts that take a lot of abuse.

what did you do exactly? Could you give a little detail on how you installed it?
basically I wrapped it. I took a heat gun and heated it so that it was easy to mold and then made sure to leave enough room on both sides after forming it to stick behind the trim. Some parts took some time to work out all the wrinkles but it all comes out with heat. The key is to make sure that you do not stretch the fabric when trying to mold the inner parts because it will start to rise after a little time.

Tools needed are:
a razor
heat gun/blow dryer
and either use your hands or a 3M squeegee
