Navigation --Day/Night settings

I was wondering if its possible to for the navigation display to automaticaly change from day to night when the lights come on at dark?

I have to manualy change it from Day to Night.....have i missed something?

I haven't seen any options to automatically switch, so I programmed one of my 1-6 preset buttons to toggle night mode

Good solution robackja. I'll have to do that when I have a car to program.

Shame it doesn't auto change as my $120 Magellan auto changes based on sunset at my current geographical location.

Somehow BMW created a variable in the CIC coding to perform automatic Day/Night mode but decided not to implement it in the 1- and 3-Series applications AFAIK:

The setting shows up after coding but do nothing.

I actually use GRAYSCALE as my default, I find it easier to read.

Just wondering why most don't like grayscale?

Such a great idea... Now that the winter is fast approaching in Germany, I go to work and it's dark, leave from work and it's dark. So the day view was pretty bright. I changed it to night thinking it would swap to day automatically, but unfortunately it does not. This is such a great suggestion... Kudos to you. I would not had thought about this in a million years, just been pissed at BMW for the non-auto switching...

Programming to one of the preset buttons is the only way. Plus that allows you to toggle day/night.

My Nav is stuck in Grayscale and I can't find how to get it out of it? Any help with this?
