Reason why OEM exhaust sits so low
So this might be a long-shot but do you think it is possible the OEM exhaust hangs so low and unfortunately is quite visible, in order to keep the heavy exhaust at a lower point for handling sake? I know it probably makes a small difference but bmw used a CF roof for "lower center of gravity" and we all know the difference is quite minor. Maybe having the boat anchor at a much lower point does something for lowering center of gravity? ANy other reasons it would be this way? However the better thing to do would have been to make a much lighter muffler so I am guessing it has nothing to do with handling but ya never know!

The exhaust doesn't really sit that low and is as close to the car's body as possible I'm sure. I think you say it is so low is because of how the mufflers are positioned perpendicularly to the car and are all the way to the rear so they show a little bit. The majority of cars have their mufflers positioned directly behind the exhaust tips and parallel to the car. This forces the mufflers to be further from the rear and less noticeable. Let me know if I took you the wrong way lol.
