I also prefer the OEM 18s over the 19s on my Space Grey e92. It works very well with the color scheme. I get alot of compliments over it, it looks mean especially with those fat expensive Sports Pilot 2 tires. Its like a Formula 1 car that is track ready is some of the compliments I've heard. |

I got both : )
19s for summer and 18s, with some custom paint, for winter. I like the euro 18s better than the usdm 18s, but they are both nice. I think that both wheels look MUCH more impressive in person. Many pictures don't show the detail between the spokes on the 19s and the depth and detail on the 18s. |

19" OD are the standard size of all the world's high performance cars. 20"+ are bling unless you are talking trucks. Though I think that the stock 18" will look good with winter tires on them. By the way, all the 0-60 mi/hr times in 4.1 s in this car have been clocked with these optional 19", so any theoretical inertial disadvantages of the slightly higher mass or larger diameter do not translate to the real world.

However, BMW itself states that the 18s are faster on a road course track. I'm sure the marketing dept doesn't appreciate BMW employees saying that though.

The 18's that come on the car are the wheels that are supposed to be on it. The car was revealed with with these wheels and thats what BMW deemed the correct wheel size for the performance of the vehicle. 19's are an OPTION for looks not performance. This is a rce car, when was the last time you saw a race car with dubs on it??? The 18's provide more rubber which means a better ride and handling. By the way, the tires for both wheels are the same brand just different size. Both Michelin Pilot PS2's were custom made for this car. Take the $1900.00 and buy a Meisterschaft GT exhaust but Don't change the wheels! I have only seen one other IL blue with the 18's where I live and I like that rarity. Let everyone else make thier M3 look common.

19 is for looks and bragging rights
same reason people put 20's on the car the "mine is bigger than yours" i can't stand the chromish finish looks like all the cheap american cars with bling the 18"s look much better i wish they had more options though |

Love my 18's on graphite. Wouldn't even consider the 19's with graphite, but it may work for some. Plus, I didn't know if I would love the fat tire look or would miss the lower profile of the 19's. Turns out I love the fat tire look.

This is what I will be doing. Order 19s with the car and then order a set of the OEM 18s (I have a hook-up to get a discount on them).

Just in terms of looks, 19s look so much better.
I get comments all the time about the rims. People are surprised when I tell them they're OEM.

I ordered the 18" with my new car. I thought I liked the 19"s until I saw them in person and realized how much chrome and bling is added to the look of the car. 18" with the fat tire look on Jet Black is

I have the 19" Forged rims and they ride a lot harder than an 18" rim for sure. You feel every little thing. I like the feeling of being glued to the road, and like knowing the feel of the surface. So if you want a squishy ride... get 18" rims.
