What is the coding that people speak of ?

Hi,

I did try to look around a bit before posting this, so not to post a thread that has perhaps already been discussed (many) times before. But what is this 'coding' that people are mentioning ?

Is there a 'stickie' that describes this ? or what options can be done, etc ?

I am most curious to learn more about this and if it is available to my 2012 MW M3 Couple ZCP/6MT - ?
