Won't accelerate after stopped

Hi everyone,
I have a 2011 e90 M3.
22000 miles

About one in every 100 times, when I am at a stoplight and the car is an automatic mode in drive, I press the accelerator and nothing happens. The car shifts (on the dash - doesn't happen in "real life") into second gear but it still doesn't go.

It's quite dangerous because cars behind me are expecting me to accelerate and the car won't move. Taking my foot on and off the gas a few times eventually gets it to go.

Of the times it happens, about one in 10 it also makes 2 loud bangs that sound as though someone hit me from the rear - and the car jerks forward as though it has been hit as well. Obviously it has not been.

I've taken it to the dealer half a dozen times to have it looked at. They said there's nothing wrong and no codes have been tripped. There is something wrong!

Anyone have any ideas on what to tell them to look for before the warranty on this is up?

Thanks

Besides taking the service advisor or tech on a test drive and trying to get the car to do it, i'm not sure what you can do. I'm surprised it doesn't trip a code. If you could somehow replicate it, that would be perfect but it sounds like it's very uncommon...hmm

Can't replicate it and when the tech drives it, of course it doesn't happen ... Concerned about a major failure post warranty

Hopefully the dealer is not going to say, "well until we observe it, there's nothing we can do."

They might be able to pull up some 'soft' codes that don't trip the full CEL. If you have BMWhat and a code reader you could check for yourself.

I just noticed it says you drive a 2015 m3? what are you worried about, you should have 4 years + of warranty. Just drive it until it fails..

I'll try the bmwhat - looks interesting. I have an OBD reader I use with wifi on my phone - will see if that hardware piece will work with this app.. Thanks

Hook up a gopro inside car and get video/audio of it happening as proof for dealer.
