Problems After Oil Change
I got my 2008 6MT E90 M3 serviced for oil change at the dealership and now the car is making an empty can like rattling noise from the engine while driven and idle an hour or so after getting it back. I've noticed the car pulling harder when I left the dealership but thought it was from new oil. I also felt the car vibrating like nothing I've never felt before when I came to a stop at the light and noticed the empty can like rattle after some high rpm pulls and saw the oil temp higher than usual so I checked the oil level on the screen of the car and saw it was at MAX. Went to the car settings to see the oil level status and it read "Oil level is too high". Contacted the dealership and the service manager told me it'll go away after I drive it for 50 miles. Decided to make another appointment at the dealership because it made no sense to me whatsoever. But has anyone else have or had this problem??

These fokking dealers and their unwillingness to learn and do proper work... how difficult can it be to fill with the recommended 8.8 liters?
If you got a warning about oil being too high, you should get some drained right away. The dealer assume your engine will consume some and maye it will, while some engines doesn't drink oil at all. Regardless too high oil level could even cause engine issues, maybe already have from the sound of it. Good luck! |
