looking at the Harley V-rod Muscle. I had an R6 before, but i didn't really fit it, and I'm just not that into speed bikes, it was a poor choice for me.

When idiots buy cameras:

poor focusing on longer length Date: September 17, 2009

Cons: Slow Auto-focus, Requres two focus efforts

I did not realize this lens needs double focusing, and without excellent eye sight, many of my pictures on vacation a all blurred. Apparently the larger adjustment adjust only some distance out, then you must use the outer adjustment riing to top off the focusing beyond that. Not happy with the need to double focus. .

yeah, for sure. Remember there are two more days of it, so he'll be covering a lot.

What's interesting is that even though I know about aperture, iso, shutter speed, the f-stops, meter readings, etc, I don't think about it when shooting every time.

I hear ya, we have to program ourselves to consider every aspect every time.

I don't know how much of tomorrow or sunday i'll catch, but hopefully a lot, might be worth purchasing the download after....

Thanks for sharing that link.
Does the 5DII have the movable metering rectangle like he was showing?

yes, that was off of the 5DII that you saw.

you use the same joystick you use to choose your single point focus

also, it was a wide rectangle because it was on "manual focus" it's smaller and more upright when it's in auto focus

Do you know if the 7D has this?
I'm trying to figure out which of the two bodies I'd like to get.
7D= AF speed
5DII/III= low light ISO goodness and that metering box
Thanks

that seem to have a very similar interface.

big difference when in video between the 2 cameras, the 7D has a lot more shooting modes to chose from.

The auto focus on the 7D blows the 5DII out of the water, i've experienced what they were talking about with the 5D searching for a focus point a few times. It is anoying (i don't know if you were watching that segment or not) but it's not a make or break situation for me as it's what i learned on, so i know how to cope with it.

However, if i had the 7D first, i would find the 5D autofocus a killer.

The 7D takes a sharper image at 100% crop when at low ISO levels, but if you want still fairly sharp at high ISO, then the 5DII holds it's sharpness much better in higher ISOs

If you're shooting indoors lots, I might recommend the 5DII over the 7D just because of the ISO handling.

if you're doing mostly sporting, go with the 7D
