Dont get me wrong I actually like the CCC its fairly intuitive once you learn it, it works well, but its SLOWWWWW. Mine is the 06 so maybe the 08 ones got a bit better but the first time you start the car it takes forever for the Nav to boot up or my phone to connect.

That being said if you are not a tech person its completely fine and the 08 will save you some money. Just change to the LCI tail lights and it will look exactly like a 2013 on the outside.
08 are still as slow haha. But I don't mind, and don't plan on upgrading to the newer version to be honest. I only use iDrive to go through my USB drive for music and that's about it really.

Might depend on wheels?
Where is the measure point located?
What is the right width?
Is there any changes in width between a 2008 and a 2013, other then for the wheels used?
Wider wheels if you get ZCP but that's about it. Also lower suspension. No width change.

The other advantage from me getting an M3, was the ability to get Sparkling Graphite. AND I got the car for a really good price then too. Can't complain.

I own an 2008.5 and have the "dated" look. But I didn't buy this car for it's cool looking display. You shouldn't eighter. Because M cars are not about that. Especialy the M3.

I picked up an 08 e93 and love it. I did the LCI tail lights, but also sold my originals, so they mod only cost me about $300.

As for the Nav, my car doesn't have it, but by simply plugging my iPhone into the y cable, I have turn by turn if I ever need it. I don't miss the Nav at all to be honest, considering my last 2 cars had it. Then again, I'm driving a beastly convertible. Who cares if my drive takes an extra 5 mins

Having owned three e92s, I have to say that the idrive has come a long way. The system in my 2013 is light years ahead of the old systems in every single way.

If your car is a daily driver, you want the new system - period. If I had an old one, I would gladly shell out the cash to retrofit or I'd swap cars.

It's a must-have update for me.

Well, its not always as simply as that. Its not like buying new is always bad idea.

a new car is going to have "zero" miles, and longer warrnety. So when you buy a car with 30k-50k miles on it. the car is going to run into problems sooner, and warrnety will last shorter.

my theory is if you can EASLIY afford buying new, then get new! its going to overall be better.

I will be honest, if i was on more of a budget i would for sure think about buying used. Then it would be smarter.

Saying you were smarter by buying used, and me buying new is rather silly.

I have an 08 and contemplated multiple times getting a '13.

But LCI + New iDrive system and Combox basically made it identical to a '13.

So it wasn't worth the sale and new purchase when a few simple mods did the trick.

99% of people who don't know anything about an M3 think my car is new. I have changed the tails and iDrive controller but not the rest of the system.

This. I swapped LCI tails/trunk on my 08 E90 and the CIC controller and people keep asking if I bought a new M3.

I've upgraded my 08 with LCI tails, I drive knob and ZCP wheels. Also LED headlights. You can also get the newer I drive system for about 1500 off ebay, with remote coding included.

Which would be the correct iDrive to buy from the following list, there seem to be several variations for the E93.

I have a 2008 E93. Thanks for the help.
