So, what's the story? When are you going to take delivery of your hot new 325 spanker?

Nice dude, REALLy nice. Congrats :rocks:
... there are not enough smilies here I also ordered a Sapphire Black 325 auto, and the suspense is unreal. Let us know how it drives etc after you've had some "quality time' with your new baby. Good luck.

Thanks Costa... i must tell you its been alot of fun so far...I just cant wait to reach the 2000km mark. The temptation of really putting my foot down is always there and i always find myself holding back... this happens every 2-3 seconds. lol

I was just thinking about that... We should plan for mid November as thats when i get back from OS. Sorry about these pictures, they dont do the car any justice... If i get time during the week i will get some decent pictures loaded. I have booked my car in for a slight upgrade of the sound equipment, nothing over the top just an AMP and a removeable 10" Sub. This should result in better quality of sound as the front speakers dont seem to be able to handle bass. Ill let you know how it goes ... should be ready by lunch time tomorrow.. So dropping my car off 830 feels a little strange handing over my keys already.. I just hope that rattles dont start cropping up afterwards.
Mate i love the blue tooth functon.. it work perfectly...so does the ipod. Love it... cant get enough.

I still cant get over the amazing difference/improvement with the e46. There is no way the e46 could be compared to this car. I remember the feeling of accuracy in steering when I upgraded from my e36 to my e46 and at the time i thought you cant get much better than this. I must admit i was completly wrong about this. The e90 is just in a different league.

Hey Aussie, congrats again.
I noticed on the pix that you have the famed (and rather delicious) 162 rims. Just wondering: 1. Whether you have experienced any "front end shimmy" or vibration, and 2. What kind of tyres you ended up with ? Cheers Costa

Costa no shimmy, no rattle, no shake. So far so good.. One thing i must admit is that its a little bumpy compared to the cars i took for a test drive. But i must tell you i wouldnt change it as the car responds like nothing else.... Boy do i love the g forces when conering....yippiee....
I ended up with Bridgestones mixed tyres.

I did EXACTLY the same thing as you. E36 wow! first BMW. E46, nice move up then July 2005 e90 - different ball game/league altogether. Hard to imagine that an e46 323 (1998) and the e90 are both BMWs. The E90 yes, the e46 well.....I don't want to get in anyone's bad books here but I had the e46 for 6 1/2 years of great ownership & fun, but its handling/power/torque cannot compare to the E90. But most of all the e46 (and e36) were both ultra reliable cars. That has to be close to top of one's priority list so I'm not critisizing the e46, it's the massive leap in everything from the e46 to the e90 that impresses me the most. Enjoy your new car and drive safely.

Coincidences...
I've been prowling around on these boards for a week or two now and finally found this thread whihc was a fun read.
I am also ordering from Alto BMW in Pennant Hills - and using Scott as my dealer. I couldn't beleive my eyes when I saw that email you included a few posts ago. He's a great guy and is helping me enormously with the price - unlike you big spenders I have to come in under LCT which has limited my options somewhat. I currently have a 320i Exec in Sparkling Graphite, with Aluminium trim, Auto, Comfort Access, Climate Screen and Sports steering, which by my reckoning is a staggering discount off RRP. I am thinking of changing my mind though and ditching the Exec package and going for the base iDrive plus Rear Park Assist which basically add to the same cost - the only issue is the lack of leather which I think I can live with - the cloth is not too shabby, and the steel wheels which I will replace with after market alloys cheaper then BMW's anyway That would make the car a 320i - Sparkling Graphite, Business iDrive, RPC, Comfort Access, Climate Screen, Auto, Sports steering, Titanium (Plastic) trim What do you guys think?? |

Hi Blundeni,
Yeah Scott was pretty good to me, I know i got a fair price and he has been very helpful with all my questions. He even returned my call after 8pm on a Friday night. Things you should think about are..... Do you need help with your reverse parking, if you dont then you probably dont need to have PDC. I dont use it as a guide, i actually find it annoying. Sports Steering wheel....yeah love it. Feels great in my hands...looks better than the regular wheel too. Climate screen... Your post says your from QLD...do you need that option? Maybe you do but i cant see why..so probably scrap that. I reckon business Idrive is cool go for it. Does comfort access really blow your hair back if it does (i think its cool but not essential) I would probably go for the Xens if you live outside Brisbane, chrome tip for you exhaust and maybe rear spoiler. I will post some clear pictures of my car highlighting these features for you. Keep in touch
