ya its 1-2K over priced..cloth interior, high miles.

You also have to check if inspection II was done, its almost $2K to have done.

"is this a bad deal?" - always the optimist eh Nick?

I would have thought selection in Cali would have been pretty decent

Looks very clean - I am sure if he pulls the trigger he will be happy with it. The extra drivetrain warranty can't hurt either

I ust bought a M3 and the seller was also fairly set on the price. I wanted more off, but I think it would have sold fast so I acted.

Ask yourself if you will regret not buying it because of a few K. It took me over a month to source my car, and with spring approaching, it would only get harder, and likely more expensive to buy a convertible.

It seems like the car is well maintained. call the dealer where it was serviced and ask them to go over the records w/you. Most dealers are willing to do this. I hear smg is a nightmare later on, but honestly I am not an authority on this topic, but when I asked my dealer about buying a used m3 he said avoid smg and high mileage.. Have a good drive with it to check it out.

Why 20K if he has it up for $19,800?

Also look to the outer edges of the front shock tower mounts - where the seam is. Fixong this requires a motor drop. Check the rear springs to make sure they havent snapped. Get a PPI, honestly its worth $100-200.

Check the driver's seat outer bolster for wear and stitching separation.

Look for oil leaks - look under after the car was driven and parked for a bit for a drip of oil. If you're at his house, check the garage floor for signs.

Check all electronic doohickeys.

Good luck!

thanks a lot
see its not for me, but my cousin.
i am a slow mover and pretty thorough, took forever for me to buy the m.
he wont budge on price, got him to add new tires as they were shot.
i said 20k, cause i factored in the additional ppi which it went for today, as he wouldnt pay it
thanks for all those pointers, i will tell my cousin to check those out.

thanks again for all the help and advice.
