My best fing ride ever was on one........out of TQ bound for Kuwait!

BTW, MSP has been quoted as $49,900 for quite some time. It is a GUESStimate and isn't substantiated by anyone. My guess, we are not any closer to knowing the figure than at any other time. Also, the discount is larger than 10% yet there is a ~$2500 shipping thrown in.

(Disclaimer:above numbers from memory only, do the search for actual numbers if you care)

Funny math

$58,000 (approx, base) - $35,300 (exact, base) = $40,000 (sic)

I would say the correct but still approximate number is much closer to a $23k premium.

(Again this is accepting the assumptions and figures of this particular thread. But no matter how the M3 is priced there is no way to come up with a $40k premium.)

I posted this same exercise about a month ago <here>, based on estimates, calculations and a little elbow grease. Pretty accurate if I do say so.

In light of this NEW information today, I prepared a NEW COPY. Thanks for sharing Davo! [attached]

Here are my predicitons from my post almost exactly a yeat ago, before we knew almost anything about the car. Pretty accurate if I do say so.
Quote:
Performance:
-0-60 mph: 4.1 s (not the brochure number, they always underrate)
-1/4 mi: 12.6 s
-Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time: 7:57 m:s
-Lateral g’s on skidpad: .90 g
-Braking 60 mph - 0: 110 ft
-100 mph - 0: 195 ft
-Top speed: 190 mph (limiter removed, obviously)

Drive train:
-HP: 433 bhp (brochure number)
-Torque: 330 ft-lb
-Redline: 8500 rpm
-SMG 7 speed (with shorter gears than E60 M5)

Body/Interior/Suspension:
-Weight: 3500 lb (with significant aluminum/composites)
-Wheel/tire size 275/35-19 rear

Other:
-Base price: $57,500 USD
Once we have the price I'm sure I will have to gloat and repost this. Also once we have some DCT performance results I'll probably have to post this again.

This is one of the questions I forwarded to my rep. There were no codes in what I was sent, but the layout of the information, and the fact that they listed the moonroof at $1050 (which previously was an unknown as far as I know), lent credence to my opinion that this was truly some accurate information irregardless of option codes. I am waiting for the answers and will let you know. I asked about Prem Audio and CA as stand alones. The literature I was sent was set up in such a way that those items were def available as stand alone, trying to confirm. As we all know, the US market and consumers have altogether different purchasing habits and likes / dislikes of equipment groupings. So I can see where CA and Prem Audio could definitely be stand alones on this side of the pond.

Sorry need to correct you. This is the first time my rep has sent anything in black and white about M SPECIFIC packages and equipment groupings and PRICES...again "in black and white". As I stated in a previous thread and as you well know, all you could get on paper several months ago was TBD - To Be Determined, as I have already stated in this thread. If all this is previously known, can you point me to the thread where it says Moonroof $1050, Interior Trim $300, Base Audio system 10 Speaker 200 watts? Didn't think so. Think before you post.
The shipping charge has never been 2500, it is 2150. Unless you have something in print that is a recent update.

Known factors are:

2006 MY MSRP 50,000
MIL Discount 10% = MIL sales price $45000

So if I was provided a known 2008 MY MIL Price of $54900 and $61000 – 10% = $54900 then $61000 (+ another 1,000 perhaps) is the civilian MSRP. The plus 1,000 is due to the fact that the increase in MSRP will most certainly produce a discount greater than 10% as was the case for MY 2006 in my scenario. Again these numbers are only to illustrate my reasoning.

$49,900 through military sales was just an estimate. I received the same information through my sales rep at Pentagon however, that price is subject to changing. That's what it says on the fine prints.

Davo2008's pricing seems to be very accurate. I just emailed my other sales rep at FIRST CHOICE MSP to see if they have any updates.

Regards,

Regards,
Thank you! Jesus. This is my point. We were all told 49,900 as a very soft number, I was told the same thing in June. This newest price in print of 50,700 IS new, as are the added details about options. Why is trying to provide good news and report it accurately to the board like pulling teeth sometimes? Thanks again Gman.

Hey thanks for sharing the info. I appreciate that. But we had to ask you some questions since you didn't post the quoted figure initially, and not all of us are familiar with how MIL sales pricing works. Thanks again.

Very kool...as I too have mil sales order that will put my M3 around $55-58k plus taxes IF they heed their initial base offer price for mil sales of $49900. All I am looking for is the technology package and upgraded sound system.

Does anyone know if the Mdrive is included here? 19" wheels are nice but since I always do lighter aftermarket wheels anyway on all my vehicles I'll take the 18" OEM and use em for track work!

Extended leather? keep it.
Moon roof? Touch decision but they can have it too.

Leather interior is all else I need/want and we're good to go. NOW hopefully I'll get an official contact from my sales guy soon too. Yesterday he sent me an email but it was just to wish me and the family Happy Thanksgiving! Was a very nice touch but dayum if it didn't get me excited until I opened it! LOL

Discount

OK, if we are all farily sure about the $50.7k number is there any way to get closer than MSRP*(1-discount)=$50.7k with a 10% discount. How can us non Military folks get a better estimate of the discount and our pricing?

Also did I hear it right, no Military discount on options?

Thanks!

Yes, Mdrive is included in the tech package but EDC is not.

HUH? EDC certainly is included in the Tech Package...at least based on the spec/option documents we currently have now. EDC is shown as part of the ZTP.

Absolutely, I am not like our buddy westwest with bets. It was made and it stands. Although extremely close I would say things are not looking to good for you at $57k or under.

Guess we will see. However, paying only 2K over the initial estimate is a win in my book!

If 51.5K (conservatively) is the actual Mil Sales price then expect MSRP to be around 57,200 if the sales price really is at 10% discount.

Using the forumal 51.5=X-X(.1)

Or 51.5=.9X, thus X=57.2

However, if the percentage is any less than 10%... say 9%

Then X=56.5

So like I said the asumption that MSRP 57.2 is based on Mil Sales giving a full 10% off of MSRP... which would be awesome for me but I would lose the bet... oh well
