All these blues are really nice (particularly MCB), but I'm a red guy and will wind up going with my favorite color of all time for my soon-to-be-ordered E92 M3... Melbourne Red.

OP... you mentioned early on in your thread "RIP Estoril Blue"... what was that in reference to? Do you no longer have your E46 M3 or has the color itself been discontinued?

I've been a huge fan of your Estoril Blue E46 M3 for quite sometime by the way... nice car!

I took that photo (and the one in post #28) years ago at a winter meet in Fairfax, Virginia. All the cars were lined up by color family. It was something to see.

I can't tell from your screen name but are you Alan? I know my friend Alan drives an E46 Estoril Blue M3 and he is known for taking pics at the various meets in our area here. If I'm wrong and you're not him, please accept my apologies. I haven't talked to him in years... nice guy.

Navin: Long time my friend. Hope you have been well. So you are changing rides soon?

Shoot me a PM.

ONLY ONE AW?! :

I vote for Estoril Blue. It goes so well with OEM 19's, "Estoril Blue"'s E46 M3. Both the body color and the wheels are shiny.

Then again, I wish I was in the States to park beside so many E46 M3s.

my car is still running in perfect condition but the estoril blue color will never be seen again they discontinued it after e36 and only allowed a few e46's to be individually ordered. i think it has something to do with it being a solvent based paint and not water based and its harmful to make or some stupid reason. that being said Monte carlo blue is like 95% similar to estoril. its a very good remake. i think it has slightly less depth and in certain light you can tell its metallic depth is different and looks darker/more of a matte? hard to describe really. i spoke with an individual e92 owner and he said bmw will not make this color no matter what. id prefer estoril over mcb but would have no problem settling for MCB bcuz it is still gorgeous and like i said 95% similar

Not a problem!! Most of the pics were in Europe which brought back really great memories. And yeah, the GTS wheels were a part of the original order but when I arrived for the May delivery they were still in production (the first batch for the actual GTS) so BMW apologized, gave me the silver set and then sent the black ones - mounted to another set of tires even - to coincide with my re-delivery of the car in Canada 6 weeks later. Those M people were pretty cool to deal with.

Cheers mister and thanks again. Still LOVE your car

i feel like light hits mcb and changes it way more than light affects estoril blue. it can look very different in different lights it seems. i kinda feel this way about interlagos and how different it looks in differing light. anybody else see this too?!?!?!?!

Ahh... thanks for the info... nice to see you on here outside good old e46fanatics.

My apologies for the late reply... just underwent heart surgery a few days ago and survived... so grateful to still be alive today.

They look very similar in photos. I have never been able to capture the blue/purple hues in JB.
