Ok I'm about to bite the bullet and splash for a set of semi slicks.
My rim setup is TE37SL 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. Currently on hankook R-S3 265/35 and 285/35 Will most likely be going for Pilot Sport Cups for my next competitive event. I can either go 265/35 and 295/30 or I was also thinking of running a square 285/30/18 to provide a bit more grip upfront (slight understeer currently) and also maybe extend tire life by rotation (not a huge concern) What would you hardcore track guys recommend? 1) stay with 265/35 and 295/30 2) go 285/30 square on staggered wheels 3) go 285/30 front and 295/30 rear

option 4- square set of tires and wheels. if you have staggered wheels and square tires means you cant change front to rear at the track to even wear out which is the advantage of having a square set in the first place.

Like I said for me the advantage of square setup is more of the additional rubber in front vs the possibility of front to rear rotation.
I definitely won't be getting another set of wheels so option 4 is out So With that outta the way, You guys are saying I shouldn't run square tires on non square setup?

yes squared, I ran staggered and you can tell the car twitches a bit, so I went with 18x10 apex with 285 tires and the car feels planted!

no you can do it but might want to think about 275-35 square as you are putting a pretty wide tire already on the front 9.5 rim.

265 shows fits 9-10.5? i ran advan ad08s in 265-30-19 as my track tire for a time and still think the benefit of square front to back outweighs slight decrease in tire width in the rear. your entry and mid corner speed will be better and handle more neutrally and exit will only suffer slightly.

Why PSC? I think there are far better R-comps for cheaper. I had them once, never bought them again.

Get Hankook TD's. They are worlds better than PS Cups (or R888's). I just ran them last week and I'm in love with these tires. They come in 265/295 as well (that's what I run). Feels like and endless amount of grip.

And, 275/35/18 NT01's (squared) on TE37 18x10.5 squared. Works great too.

The cups were horrible. And once you pass the fairly low limits of grip they just give out from under you with little warning.
