just an FYI guys, don't post up your production number in public. Not that I'm going to, but any dealer can steal your car out of another dealer's inventory if they have the production number. You never know who might be lurking around the forum. Later.

No, I have the #1 spot at a local dealer (been on the list since 2002!) and I was able to spec it myself.

I'll post pics as soon as I pick it up, hopefully a few days after March 8!

Just got off the phone with BMWUSA and the guy stated that my car was supposed to be finished production on March 11. I had been told previously that the car was scheduled for March 10th production.
Another thing, the automated voice usually kicks my order to an associate after "searching". Just now, the automated voice actually came back with a status saying my car was scheduled for production with a date to be determined.
If it is supposed to be finished on March 11th, that means it should go into production next.

Lucid, how many days before actual production started did you order go 150? Aren't you supposed to know that have 2 days left to change things before it goes 150?

No, don't believe there is any notice. 150 (well, 151 really) is usually the start of production and it should be done withing 7 days of turning 150.

There is some confusion here. It sounds like you are scheduled for Week 10 production not March 10th production. That adds up since if the production on your car begins on around the 3rd (week 10), it should end by roughly the 11th.

The automated voice system is as behind as OC. I didn't get any notice at all, and the rep one day all of a sudden said my car was being produced. Actually, the voice system and OC still think my car has not started production yet. So, ignore all that. When you get close to March 3rd, start calling them everyday until you are told by a rep that it is in production or have your dealer notify you when production starts. Mine was supposed to, but he didn't.

I know only 2 things for sure: my order was entered into the system as a new #111 order on 1/28, and production started on 2/26. I don't know the specifics of what happened in between.

Another update:

Called this morning, early, and was told there was still an estimated date of week 15.

For some reason, false hope no doubt, I just callled this afternoon and received some curious news.
There was a note in there from the factory at 5:48pm, which means roughly 11am CST (which is after I called this morning), stating my order had been scheduled for daily production pack and the guy said usually they stay in that state for about a week before going into production. However, he said there was no estimated build date in there. Not the week 15 or anything I was told earlier.
What's curious is my order was scheduled for daily production pack (status 112) on Feb 21. Now they are saying it is again? I think it would be safe to assume the note from the factory is more trustworthy than the VIR I have. Certainly, more believable.

Hopefully, all this means my car will be produced during week 11 as previously identified.
I know how getting my hopes up turns out though...

This is ridiculous however you look at it. They gave just about everybody else here accurate information; why can't they do the same with you? I hope it means week 11 production as originally scheduled.

That is completely unacceptable, albeit I don't see much that can be done - I'd certainly guess more likely than not there's been some miscommunication in the system somewhere, but I'm pullin for ya - let us know if it starts soon

Epacy,

I went Status 112 on January 28--but when I spoke with my dealer on Saturday, I was Status 111 again. He said since my order was postponed 6 weeks, it was removed from the "Daily Production Pack." I hoping to go Status 112 again soon (if I'm still Week 14 production).

Yeah, not much can be done. Noone knows why it moves, they can only tell me that it moved. Wonderful situation.
Everytime I call them I get a different status. Pure chaos.
You know I'll be checking daily.

Well judging by your avatar, your's is a sedan spot. Slightly different.
I never went back to 111. Always was 112.
The 6 week movement is the same and bizzare.
I understand your angst though.

Wow, will this nightmarish ordeal ever become clear?

This morning, my order is back at week 18, last week of April for start of production. Simply insane...
