I have been meaning to call them - I'm under the impression that the Comprehensive warranty runs from the in-service date, so a 4-year warranty doesn't cost much, but it covers the same time period as the factory warranty. I don't put much mileage on my cars so the 100K protection doesn't factor in. That effectively means $2600 for years 5 and 6, which is tempting but not a show-stopper for me. Hmmm. . . .

I just found out my CPO warranty had a $50 deductible. I never even knew that warranties could have a deductible.
Either way, cheaper than paying out of pocket for the whole repair.

Bump! Thinking about getting this warranty. Seems to make the most sense to me since it's the same provider of BMW's own extended warranty plan less ~$2k. Anyway, anyone have a positive or negative experience with Assurant since this post was created a couple years ago?

I do recommend reading the exclusions and they are numerous in every warranty package I have reviewed. |

Just got a quote so here is one more price data point FWIW.
2008 M3, currently 77k miles Premium plan +2yr/20k: $3,910 +3yr/30k: $4,765 $100 deductible per visit Assumed it would be pretty expensive given age and mileage, so not too bad. I've been out of warranty for 2.5 years and no issues yet touch wood, just love the car and thinking if I keep it I might add the coverage. Expensive insurance policy, some big things would have to go wrong to make it worthwhile. Hmm...

Dropped car off at dealership Loaner car Assurant paid for the repairs. $1100.00. Hope to repair more things under warranty...so I can breakeven or come out ahead. $3400 more to go before breaking even. New engine perhaps. hahha |

Kind of late to this thread but I would love to hear some news from the M3 owners with USAA EVP plans and how they are doing.
I am driving a 2011 E92 DCT with Comp Pkg and am researching extended warranties. I have dismissed a few that confirmed they did not cover DCT repairs. My car has just under 30K miles, has never been in an accident and is in great condition. While speaking with a representative from USAA this afternoon he was unable to confirm that the engine bearings or DCT issues would be covered. Has anyone had to make a claim for either of these items on their M3 and did USAA/Assurant cover it? While speaking with the USAA rep he shared a story regarding a friend of his with a GTR. Apparently the friend was found of launching the GTR and blew up the gearbox while drag racing. USAA had the repair shop pull some data of the ECU and denied his claim because he had exceeded a specific number of launches. Has anyone had a dealership or repair shop pull this kind of information off the M3. I am leaning toward getting a USAA EVP but have no idea how many times my the 2 previous owners may have launched my car. It would suck to learn after the fact that I had purchased a warranty for a vehicle for which my claims may be denied because of the previous owners driving habits. Here are the rates I was given, I am leaning towards the 36 month plan. Duration Mileage Lump Pay Monthly # of mos 12 12000 $1,475.53 $245.91 6 24 24000 $2,217.04 $369.50 6 36 36000 $3,533.14 $294.42 12 48 48000 $5,647.46 $470.61 12 Thanks for any experiences good or bad that USAA policy holders share. |

I got the 3 year plan but one year into the extended warranty I have yet to use it. Guess that's good. Never discussed this with usaa before purchasing the warranty but then I am the original owner and know that the issues you raised in terms of launches would never be a problem for me.
Contact Mike Benvo at BPM or any one of the other vendors who offer coding, they should be able to check the car to see how many launches, red lines etc your car has experienced...

I've had nothing but a positive experience with my USAA/Assurant warranty. I've had four warranty claims in the past 1.5 years and the only one that was scrutinized was the A/C evaporator replacement. (a representative had to come to my mechanic's shop and inspect the car prior to the dash dis-assembly and after the dash was apart) Otherwise, the authorization process only takes an hour or so once my mechanic troubleshoots the issue. Even he remarked how painless it was to deal with USAA/Assurant in comparison to other warranty companies. They even provide a rental car for claims that take longer than a day. This is my first 3rd-party warranty and I'd buy another one from them in a heartbeat.
