High Mileage?

Im looking to buy an E90 M3. Any car between 2009-2011. I was wonderin if I should think about buying one with between 65k-85k miles. Theres a 2010 down here thats perfect and it has 84k miles. Wanted opinions on if it's a bad idea to buy these cars with that kind of mileage.

it all comes down to maintenance records for a high mileage car. With many used enthusiast cars, you're buying "the owner", not the car.

I have a 60k M3, when time comes to sell, I know I can sell at the top of the pricing point b/c I'm have a full records car, even as the 2nd owner. And I mean full records down to Blackstone reports.

for what it's worth, I have a 2009 E93 M3 with 115,000 miles and 0 issues. Love it!

I bought my 09 in 2014 with 60K

Now I have 142K

Just regular maintenance and replaced the starter.

Bought my 2008 e93 with 59K and now have 89K. Zero issues and the Blackstone reports are perfect. Not sure what the previous owner did with it, but I drive it like I stole it most of the time...

Get the car's service history and make sure it was cared for. No car will be flawless, but if it got regular maintenance and has had a largely trouble-free life, you'll be fine.

PS, mine is for sale and might be what you're looking for. Check the link in my signature for more.

I have zero issues with the higher mileage

Regardless of what M I buy it will have its rod bearings replaced at my earliest convenience

If it has over 50k miles, it would have the suspension replaced for the Bilstein B12 kit if it's non EDC or the Bilstein EDC B8 if it's EDC.

This is a spectacularly reliable car for the performance it provides

PS: If you can buy it off an enthusiast, like dparm, then you're way ahead of the game!

Thanks for the info guys! My sales manager just got me the full run down on the car and everything checks out. Just had a repaint on the rear bumper but everything else is fine! Gonna check it out soon!

You need to put clean gas in, add a cleaner from time to time and if you get a check engine light fix it. Don't sulk around waiting for the problem to go away or blame it on the previous owner.

These cars love to be driven hard. However that is not to say carelessly. I.e. Don't go into a road full of potholes and go fast. Take care of it too.

I went and test drove the car. Super clean. Really smooth. Premium/tech/convenience packages. Hope it doesnt sell before I can make the move on it. Wish me luck.

Or buy mine, which has Premium 2, Tech, Convenience, Competition, and lots of other options.

Happy to provide the VIN if you want to run the car's history, but I do have all of the service records.

I have a little bit of wiggle room on price, but not much. PM/email me if you want to discuss further.
