may I ask, why can't Volk makes wheels with a bolt pattern? I just like using bolts. But then again, if you are going to track the car, it makes sense to use lugs.

Wow some people are still confused. MAybe they have never swapped out tires or wrenched on their cars. Ill explain it.

Ok most cars cone with hub that have studs already inserted. Like so

To put the wheel on, you use lug nuts. Like so,

A BMW uses lug bolts.

To put the wheel on you use lub bolts, like so
The one in the middle.

For the most part it doesnt depend on your wheels. The OP wants to use Volk nuts like so

He wants them for looks.

Figured I would bump to this to the top with wheel stud talk. I still love my wheels studs, although I ended up with a different set of wheels. I have the Volk lugs, but I haven't installed them yet. This is the best pic I have of the wheels and the studs with the standard black Vorshlag nuts that came with the studs. I now have different tires, springs, and lugs:

I guess I did not think it was a big deal to deal with the lug bolts. I think the mod makes the wheel stud look cheap. Like a place where the car manufacturer skimped.

Is there some reason you can't just use the stock bolts w/ the Volks?

That's because my dad hasn't had a shot at 'em yet. He can cross thread any bolt!

Pretty cool.

A stud conversion would allow you to run cool stuff like BBS lugs

No. There is no reason you can't use the stock bolts. I don't like bolts so I converted to studs and Volk lugs.

Makes reinstalling your wheels MUCH easier. It is a PIA trying to fuss hold the wheel on with one hand, finding the lug bolts and then starting the bolts.

You'll realize how much sense this makes when you take a wheel off and try to put it back on.

What torque setting do these require, when installing?

Also, do you still tighten the new lug nuts to 88 lb/ft, or to a lower number? I seem to recall that a buddy of mine did a lug nut conversion, and now he only tightens to 80 lb/ft.

Cheers
