"For several years Brembo and BMW have been working hand in hand developing world class braking systems. Now Brembo and BMW are announcing today they will now be featured as a dealer installed option. Coming in a ray of colors from blue to yellow, red or orange. In any case, the iconic M BMW logo will accompany all M Performance Parts orders. For now, the featured brakes will include aluminum fixed brake calipers (four-piston front and two-piston rear) upgrade for all 1 Series and 3 Series models."

I cant imagine what the markup is going to be...
"Yea sure you could buy them direct from Brembo for 50% less, but you get the ///M logo AND warranty from BMW. So whatdaya say?"

No OEM Brembo fixed-piston calipers are offered for the M3. Not now, not in the past. |

M3 CRT had them, I would have liked the option to pay to upgrade to those brakes.

+1, no idea why this took so long. I'd pay the upgrade price, if they still cover pad/rotor replacement under the warranty. Although I'm thinking they'll come stock on the new F82, or at least I hope so.

May not be branded Brembo, but these:
** EDIT I take that back you can clearly see "brembo" on the caliper on the second pic.

And when you really take a look at them, they are just the same Brembo GT calipers that you can get from any forum vendor here. |

I'd heard that 7er's had Brembo's also, but they didn't look like the traditional Brembo brakes we know.

Right understood, but I would have liked if it was even offered as a option. Of course it would probably be overpriced, but it would still mean that the upgrade is covered under maintenance and warranty, and part of the finance or lease if that was the purchase method.

I asked Matt Russell about getting the CRT brakes for the 2013's back in February, and he said that AG required 3 cycles of cold and hot weather testing, and they were only going to have been able to do two, and that is why we couldn't get those brakes as an option on either side of the pond. That one one of the main things I was holding out for a '13 with regards to something special for the final year. Something special beyond the "unique" color special editions that have popped up all over the place.
