The mere fact that they even included the M3 in this test is a testament to its legendary status. It is a 6 year old design and is luxury sports coupe, not a full blown sports car. The one car that should have been in the test was an Audi R8.

Can't wait to see the Z06 Vette !!!!
Z07, but yes it will be a beast. The new vette does look a lot better in person and for anyone that doesn't need the backseats will be hard to pass up.

The Stingray is 56k with all performance options. So you're comparing a modded 6 year old car to a new stock vehicle.

M3 is an awesome all around car and unbeatable for practicality, but nowhere near the same performance as a Stingray. The m3 also has the advantage of a DCT, whereas the Vette is a manual.
I've been on both cars. Have you?

And this is an M3 forum so I made the comparison. Obviously a stock M3 couldn't hang but it's nice to know that a modded one can.

Sorry but it will still be a Z06... not Z07

Actually, that isn't known yet. There is a lot of speculation that the hi performance (or should I say "higher" performance) car will be called the Z07.

Do not work for GM. Was sitting with and in the Hendricks racing suite this past Saturday for the race. There were quite a few discussions on it being that he bought #1 #2 and #17 off the line. Plus why would it be a Z07? Cause it is a C7? When it was a C5 it was still a Z06... Just curious as to your thought process

It's not really my thought process but rather that there is a lot of speculation and discussion on this out there and no one seems to have any credible information one way or the other.

Anyone care to guess if the new C7 Z06 will be a twin turbo V6 or normally aspirated V8???

After seeing the C7 in person it still looks like a cheap Vette. I really wish they would stop with the damn badges. People know its a damn Corvette. Getting ready to drive the C7 on the track next week. I hope the performance wins me over because I really want to like the C7.

I would guess a FI V8 before a FI V6.

X2 wouldnt be surprised though if the next gen corvette uses a FI V6 as a base engine.

Just saw my first Stingray in the wild today. At first I thought it was a red Ferrari Italia (from the headlights and red color) but then I realized it was the new Corvette! It looks amazing but the driver was some old guy.
