Exclamation how to install heimholtz chamber or cutouts?

Watsup guys, i currently have a full cat-less exhaust and while it sounds amazing it has a bit of drone. How do i go about telling my exhaust guys how to install a heimholtz chamber or even some cutouts? Is there any guide or something i can show them about the length needed or where to place them? Any help is much appreciated.

Your exhaust shop will have to figure it out. They'll have to see if there's enough space to weld in a couple chamber like on the AA exhaust.

Yea I know that but what are the components in a heimholtz chamber and how long is it suppose to be. I wish I had exact specs for the AA, so I could mimic it.

They're no secret. Any good shop should know about them.

I called the muffler shops and only one knew what I was talking about but I have to suppy the parts. So which resonator do I buy? And how long should the tubing extend to?

do a google search. There's plenty of info, specifically on pontiac g8 forums.

You don't need a resonator, you need a straight section of pipe and a cap to weld one side closed.

Thanks but what about specifics for your exhaust systems? Like how long should the pipe extend on the e92?

Theres actually a formula to figure out the length of pipe needed but I have no idea what it is. You can also weld an open ended pipe on and then slip a bigger one over it to play with the length to find out what's best. Then just weld it there.

As said before do a search specifically on the g8 boards as alot of guys have made heimholtz pipes wit great results eliminating drone. The formula for the correct length is also on that forum and I'm sure a goggle search will give you what you need

Heimholtz chambers need to be tuned. It's not a simple matter. From my knowledge of pressure and flows (I'm a mech. eng.), you could actually make it worse if you do it wrong.

Google it; it's been days and you're not gonna get the answer you're looking for one here. There's tons of info from the G8 boards from guys who do this when they run muffler deletes. Although said before, it is very unlikely you're gonna make it worse from trial and error. If you don't feel comfortable experimenting, find the formula and calculate the length of pipe needed.
