World's Quickest Sedan: Porsche Panamera Turbo
Check out the newest issue of Car and Driver!
The editors there managed a 0-60 MPH run in the Porsche Panamera Turbo in just 3.3 seconds! When I read that, I couldn't believe my eyes. Quarter mile comes up in 11.7 sec. Porsches these days with PDK and launch control are stupid quick. I remember reading the newest Boxster S managed a 4.3 0-60, amazing stuff too. But wow, I am blown away by the Panamera. And it needs to shift into 3rd to reach 60 A friend of mine with a 997 911 Turbo thought he would be giving up a lot of straight-line performance when his Panamera came in, I guess not...

That boat does 0-60 in 3.3? Hot damn. I knew the Turbo was fast, but was doubting it would break 4.0s, never mind 3.3s!

It'll be the quickest until the new Bugatti Galibier, which is about to start production. Top speed is 217 and it'll do 0-60 in 3 seconds flat.

Autocar is a British magazine, so expect high humidity and probably damp surfaces. In addition, they also often test on less-than-prime surfaces.

US mags also use 1-foot rollout like dragstrips do which gives them better times. Figure 3.7 or so for a normal 0-60 using LC. Still brutally fast.
Once my STI is paid off in 4 years I'll see what 4 years of depreciation has done to a Panamera. |
