I'd ask about the GoPro. They might not want people attaching cameras to the cars (safety/liability reasons).

Yes, ask them but I am pretty sure at least one person brought their own camera when I attended the two day school last July. You're going to have a great time! Hope the weather cooperates.

You don't really need a gopro. They have a full race keeper setup and they will give you a USB drive with your videos. Here is one of my videos from a month ago.

Dazedone is correct, you get the race keeper video on a usb stick to take with you. But the video is only from the second day, or at least that was the case when I went in July.

Great video but it was very hard to follow where the track went. Good thing there were plenty of cones. I going to guess a few people sent some cones flying.

I did the school last December, they had no issue with me sticking the GoPro anywhere on the car. I got some great footage. If I were you I'd take it. The video they give you is pretty cool, but not HD, like the GoPro.

You will love the school, it is an absolute blast!

Racekeeper Video is pretty good but not HD, I went when they had the 1M, M3 and new M5..... Perfect timing for me. What do they have nowadays?

BTW, don't overdo it Saturday night since Sunday is even more involved than Saturday.

No new M3/M4 yet so I think they are still running M3's, M5's and M6's... No manual transmissions, students were burning out too many clutches!

Yep, M3's, M5's, & M6's is what I was told when I set up my trip. Haha, thanks ChiTownM. I was looking to go around a little bit Sat night but that's a good word of advice.

Yes, I'd go easy Sat night! There is a little bar at the Marriott and the restaurant is respectable. I did not venture beyond that though the town is well worth a visit. My school was a BMWCCA event so there was a group dinner both Fri and Sat nights and we all stayed at the hotel for a couple of drinks after.

Another piece of advice, bring some Dramamine! A fellow M3post member clued me in and while I had no issues because I took some before driving, a couple of guys in my class had to get some pills from me. The aggressive driving can cause some nausea for some so be prepared...

^ The 2 day M school is held at BMW's Performance Driving Center in Spartanburg SC, near the factory that build the X5's etc. You fly into Greenville/Spartanburg but getting out after the class ends on Sunday afternoon can be challenging. I ended up spending Sunday night as well and flying home Monday morning...

It's the one down in SC. Kscarrol: Oh, it's a CCA one this weekend also. Unfortunately I'm getting there late Friday night so I'll miss out on the first dinner. Thanks, I'll bring some Dramamine.

One more tip, no liquor sales on Sunday in that part of SC! If you are spending Sunday night like I did, grab a beer or two on Saturday if you want one on Sunday...

Thanks for the tip about the Dramamine, kscarrol. That was BIG. 2 guys got really bad motion sickness this wkend, and one decided not to go on the 2nd day bc he was so bad the first day. Overall, I had a great time and am actually considering going again, haha. (For some of the guys there this wkend, it was actually their 2nd or 3rd time going, hah!)
