i think this is a great idea for someone like EAS or IND to do....
I would buy one as long as its not stupid money.. the biggest problem is shipping.... maby they can come up with a system where they send you one wrapped in alcantara and you send your headliner in the same box in return... along with paying for the alcantara one of course.. but it would help costs... there is a slight trust issue tho... on getting the stock head liner shipped back... |

Interiors
Interior leather/stitch/alcantara work is beautiful, yet pricey.
We've done numerous Alcantara headliners, but none on an E90/92 M3. Same thing though. The cost will be up there (3k+). It's not just the headliner. Visors, A,B, and C pillars. We usually stitch around the visors which looks really nice. If you have a sunroof, we stitch around that too. Good look, if you have the cash. |

If you do it on the M3, it'd be cheaper like u said. Price also depends on what material u use (real Alcantara vs non-branded ultra-suede).

Isn't the US the largest M market... and we keep getting screwed.

Why are these individual options available on the M5 or M6 but not the M3? Having an "M5 option" on a M3 is not going to cannibalize the sales of the more expensive models, as a person who is planning to buy a M3 is not going to buy a M5 just because it offers more options than the M3. Offering these options on the M3 will only make it seem more exclusive. Porsche offers to paint anything on the car into any color you want whether it be a lower end model like the Boxster to the most exclusive GT2, why can't BMW do that... especially on THE Ultimate Driving Machine like the M3. |

What I am saying is that BMW should simply make these individual options available on the M3. Pricing is a different issue. It gives the buyers more individualization if you want and can afford it.

The pricing structure of BMWs in the US simply won't allow that to happen. Also, it'll drive up the cost of repair during the warranty period as well, so corporate would have very little incentive to do.

Sorry but how does having an option like Full Leather Interior drive up cost of repair? It is already being offered on the M5/6? Why is it a problem to offer it on the M3?

Possibly more wear and tear on the full leather interior compared to the plastic / leatherette interior bits. Trust me I would love to see those bits on my M3 as I had some of those elements in my old E55, but just think that it would not be economical for corporate.
