AW / Sparkling graphite M3

I've debating for quite awhile on whether to get the Sparkling graphite or the Alpine White M3. I like the aggressive look of the sparkling graphite, but I also like the clean look of the AW and its contrast with the CF roof. Basically, I want the beautiful body lines to be obvious/show up. From the configurator, it seems to me that the graphite shows up the body line better. Any suggestions?

I think you're right that the Graphite will show the lines better, particularly sinces it's a metallic. The downside is a dark color is much more labor-intensive to take care of. I'm leaning toward White, myself, or maybe one Space Gray or Silverstone.

Actually I'm leaning toward White, but on the same time, the Graphite is really growing on me. I don't mind taking care of my car, I can do it everyday if needed. Its a tough choice for me. Contrast and clean look of the AW or aggressiveness of the SG? arghh...!

go with white! When I was taking delivery of my M5 there was a white M6 and it was stunning! The white contrasted with the carbon fiber roof did it for me. With the darker colored cars you can't see the carbon fiber at all unless you are right on top of it.

I am not sure if the main BMW configurator is representing this color all that well. It comes across as rather dark. Look at the BMW South Africa configurator and you'll see a major difference between that and what you posted. Two different configurators, two different looks. So, I'd wait and see one in person before ordering...

Exactly what I have in mind, but probably I would go white after all. Can't go wrong with either colour, it's just a matter of what appeals to me...and I'll have to see the SG in person if it'll change my mind about going with white.

Thanks guys for all the inputs! Appreciated it and helps me a lot
Can't wait for the new M3 to be released

IMO, any "lighter tone" matalic silver color is the way to go to accomplish your objectives. SG is too dark of a color IMO. Oh, with silver/grey or black interior of course.

Having seen "regular" 3s and 5s in SG, to me, SG looks purplish in certain light.

Sparkling graphite rules :rocks:!! Space Grey would be another option (not sure if that's available for the M3)

Yes, it is a color option.

Indeed, the SG is too purple, not my choice. If 1/2 America wants AW, that is just the problem, so no AW.
AW is a verry popular color now, but what in 2-3 years? I want the more classic color.................................

AW for me!! (but I still not sure whether black or red interior tho...?!) if not, Interlago Blue or Jerez Black (least likely, due to the roof!).

problem for me is, I have two close friend that both has a 335i (1 coupe, 1 sedan), and one is SG sedan, one is space gray coupe. and I don't want to have the same color w/ them! plus I'm seeing tons of gray 3 series on the road.

As partial as I am to sparkling graphite (SG), which I love btw, I personally would get the AW for the M3. Darker colors cast shadows, and the uniqueness of the M3 that sets it apart from other non-M3 E92s (e.g., the side vents, the rear bumper design) is more apparent with white.

As for customizing, should you ever decide to add any carbon fiber, SG is not the best color to do that with, whereas AW lends itself well to the contrast. I'm talking about aftermarket hoods, front lips, rear spoilers, etc. SG may, in OEM form, look both aggressive and elegant, but AW really stands out in the crowd when modified.
