Will M3 have Runflats??

Sorry if this has been covered but I want to know for sure!
...I do see a BMW mobility kit listed in the standard equipment in another post. Thanks.

No, it won't. They would not give you the M Mobility kit if it did.

I've never used mine yet (wheew!). Have you or anyone else had to use this kit and how did it work out and under what conditions?
Thanks guys.

No, Run flats would completely ruin the handling of the car. I test drove a 335i with run flats and it just slides about all over the place if you happen to stray over any white lines.

Runflats on M3

OK. Thanks for clearing this up. I suspected this, but called a CA at my local dealer and he stupidly chided me for believing it would not have run flats!

I would use it only as last resort. I have a space saver spare I throw in for trips.

Did you get your space saver from a dealer? I like the thought of taking one on a trip rather the mess up the inside of my wheel with the mobility kit.

I sure hope the M3 is not w/ run-flats, but I wouldn't doubt it will since BMW has put so much effort and emphasis on run-flat technology.

I know what you mean.

But I'd much rather have the mobility kit than RFTs. And a spare just adds weight.

/M cars have never had RFT yet, so most likely will continue that trend for their performance cars

And E36 M3 has a full-size spare in the trunk. Why would you want a donut?

I remember reading in Roundel (BMWCCA magazine) that the M3 will not have run flats (but instead will have the special application Michelins) and that they had attempted to put non-run flats on a e9x car and it did not handle quite right because the suspension was set up specifically for run flats.
