Sorry about your experience OP and I hope they get everything fix up. I heard Rallye BMW is a good place to do service and Dennis the SA drive a M3 as well.
I am planning to bring my car there for my 1200 service. If you looking to switch try Rallye BMW. Here is the link with all the good remarks. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672868 |

I wouldn't let this little incident get to you that much.. I admire Life Quality in Brooklyn for their big loud showroom, but they have a 1 star rating on Yelp.. Open Road on the other hand has 4 stars.. I wouldn't do anything too crazy, consider it just a fluke.

update today, this is really unbelievable!!
they say the car is perfect and ready to go to be picked up, i go to day and i get their sign what i have to sign and i make sure im their when they first start the car up to make sure the idle is good, nope idle is still funky and then smooth out walk around the car and its filthy!!! looks like the car was sitting under a tree for a year thats how dirty it was their was oil on my trunk, yes fucking oil drips on my dam trunk and oil finger prints all over the car, it gets better open the door and theirs oil finger prints all over the inside of the car to!!! im the most anal person when it comes to my cars and this had me fuming told the manager and even he couldnt believe it, they said they are going to do a full detail and look at the idle problem again on paper it says they replaced 2 actuators and a coil pack for the hesitation and idle problem.

My cold start idle has surged from day 1...nothing drastic, just a couple hundred every 20 secs or so then it evens out after a minute or two. Hope the issues are over - I'd have lost my mind if I picked up my car & saw it was trashed.

I'm having the same exact problem as of last night. The service engine light came on last week. They replaced the fuel pump module and fuel pump as well as some other things. Last night the car completely shut down, mid lope, on a crowded highway. Had to get a flatbed to the dealer. Just got off the phone with them and they say that some bad coils caused a series of misfires that led to loss ofcompression in 3 or more cylinders.

I had an '08 135 that they ruined with new programming. There was a lawsuit about it. The issue is can a manufacturer sell you a car that performs a certain way then when you bring it in for service or repair change the programming which alters the way the car performs ? The reason they did it was that car had the HPFP problem.
