The eagle has landed - Space Gray e92 M3!

Hey guys-

After 3 long months of waiting, my Space Gray e92 M3 finally arrived this past Tuesday; and I was finally able to pick her up yesterday. Coming from a modified e46 M3, and after reading a lot of skeptical feedback on the new M3, I will admit, i had my doubts; especially after just selling my e46M3 last week.

All I can say is, this car is a fricken savage! I' tried to understand how people have been able to say the e46 felt more edgy or that the e92 M3 is not as raw. Based on my driving style, even limiting myself to 5.5k Rpm, i'm pushed back in my seat and the exhaust note, literally turns heads. Obviously it's personal preference and opinion, but for me, this car picks up where the e46 M3 left off; both in luxury enhancements and performance.

After picking my car up, I headed for the Mt. Tam twisties in the Marin hills and tried out all the suspension/drive functions; superb in my eyes and I could feel EDC in every stage. Put it this way, I had GC Coilovers w/camber plates on my E46M, and it was great, yet very bumpy. EDC in the sport setting brought me right back to the e46 w/coilover feel, normal seems to be the perfect setting. I'll save the drivers feedback and details to those that will experience the car for themselves; but all i can say is, I could not be more happy with this car and anxiously await my 1,200 mile mark.

Other "non-drive" positives are: Enhanced sound-Equalizer & Surround Setting is the trick to get this thing to hum, Extended Leather-black or not, looks and feels great, LED flashlight in glove box-nice, cup cooler in arm console- nice touch, HD Radio is sweet, comfort access is awesome, ipod usb-worth it, rear sunshade works for me, heated seats-plush, and nav- it works well.

About 120 miles later, rather a day later, i'm now at Premier having my custom clear bra installed. Guys, this is a must.

Anyhow, pics to come later, but here is a few snap shots, while I sit here and wait for my car to be completed(5 hr job).

**EDIT: Updated pics on page 2.

Awesome. The space gray gives the car an aggressive look. I would have chosen 18'' wheels because they are darker which reinforces the dark side.

aluminium pedals is not listed on the BMWUSA website, are there more options not listed ?

I think on the e9xM's, the head on angle looks down right mean. (Minus the fugly painted reflectors)

No, they need to be ordered from the parts department. I had it on my last M, and wanted it on this one, so they included/installed this upon delivery

thanks I take note.

Yeah from the front but from the side the 19'' look more glamour than mean. The 18'' wheel have this racier look like they mean business. The 19'' look good overall though.

Unfortunately, I don't have the part number handy; however they are the same part as the standard e90/e46.

You guys that are interested should ask if they can install this prior to picking you cars up. My dealer had no problem doing this at all, actually threw them in at no charge when i asked for them (only $85).

I completely understand. I was nervous and sad when i handed the keys over to the proud new owner of my mint 04 M3, that only had 34K miles on it.

Anyhow, w/o a doubt the car is superior to the e46M3, and if you enjoy your e46, just wait to you take a drive in your own/optioned out e92M3.

Best of luck.

Thanks a lot! Sparkling Graphite looks great on the e93 though. Think I'm one of, if not the first SG in the North Bay per both dealers here. They mentioned almost all orders have been AW or JB.

my buyer had her mechanic inspected the car this morning, and the mechanic couldnt find anything wrong. he even came to me to commend me or maybe was trying to feel if I was serious selling it... as my last bail out. I said I love the car but the deal was already made.

I know its time to let go, but I had or am going through the same moments you had... even pulled out of several hand shakes past. but thk for sharing

mine was 02 steel grey pristine w/ 33k miles on it
