Bubble on sidewall

I hit a pretty massive pothole last weekend and just noticed this bubble on the front left tire.

Time for new tires? How dangerous is it to be driving on this? I haven't driven since I noticed it.

On the positive side, maybe that tire and wheel insurance the dealership convinced me to buy will start paying off... I'm guessing they'll only cover one tire though?

One time I had some curb rash on a wheel on my other car, the shop I took it to for repairs screwed up putting the tire back on and it was bubbled out like that. They called me and told me that "it was probably my fault from whenever I hit the curb, it weakened the tire" so they weren't going to replace it for me. I raised hell and got them to replace it, but they wouldn't let me drive with it bubbled like that for long (unless I planned to just drive it to the dealer or something).

I wouldn't go too long without getting it replaced.

The trouble is, the sidewall structure can weaken further over time, and eventually you could have a tire failure. I'd definitely suggest using that tire insurance.

That sucks, I'd replace that tire asap. Check on that coverage you purchased. They're not gonna cover a whole set though I bet.

Do it ASAP. don't drive on it

Happened to me at about 2k miles. Dealer swapped it the day after. I was scared driving from work to there (15 miles).
Took only surface streets and drove slowww.

I was going to buy 1 spare front and 1 spare rear (with tires) so I could swap whenever...but I ended up just buying a new full set of SLs.

Maybe buy a spare while you're at it? Never hurts

Hahaha good luck man. I had a hole in my tire and they wouldn't cover it under the warranty nor a curbed rim even though they clearly told me they would if this ever happened. I will NEVER buy these policies from the dealership again. I fucking hate them! Except for Jimmy, Jimmy's cool

Are those PS2? I had a bubble in my PS2 which looked almost exactly like yours on my driver's side rear this summer. I replaced the tire as soon as I could.

Yeah, PS2s. Just replaced them a few months ago. The rears are already down to ~4mm, but the fronts have plenty of tread, so this is unfortunate.

Maybe this is a good excuse to upgrade to PSSs...

I wouldn't expect curb rash to be covered, but when I got it they made it sound like potholes and that sort of thing were covered. We'll see I guess.
