BNIB Throttle Actuator

Item Interest
EDIT: This is for sale again - I've gone long enough without TA codes that I don't think I'll need to install this.

I have one brand new throttle valve actuator, genuine OEM BMW part #13627838085. I bought it immediately after throwing the typical TA failure codes, but was able to replace the gears in my existing actuators and haven't seen any codes since. High dealer restocking fees means it makes more sense to sell it here than to return it...

$835 shipped, net of PayPal fees. Located in NE Maryland if you'd like to pick it up.

Edit - I'm starting to get codes again that are indicative of a bad TA...so I'm going to hang on to this as I'll likely have to install it shortly.

Bumping this back up. New gears and a new battery seem to have cleared up the codes I was getting, so I'm comfortable selling this now. Brand new, never taken out of the factory wrapping.

Sorry to thread jack. How many miles have you run so far with your new gears without getting a code? I am about to install the new gears but I am afraid I would get the code right after installation.

That. And also, which new gears did you get? The new plastic ones or the new metal ones from the UK? How long did it take you to do one actuator?

I initially got the TA codes for Bank 1 back in May, and immediately bought the new actuator that I'm trying to sell. But I decided to install the Odometer Gears fix in both the good actuator and the failing one to see if it would help. I was still getting a myriad of codes, but nothing consistent enough to determine if it was definitely had a bad actuator. I just replaced my battery (it was the original and 7 years old) and I haven't had a single problem or code since.

So, to answer your questions - I've put ~2k miles on the Odometer Gears, and that includes 3 track days. Getting to the actuators isn't too bad of a job after the first time...it just requires pulling the intake manifold off, but that's all very well documented here. Installing the Odometer Gears fix was pretty easy, and they have a great video on their site to help you through that.

I would say don't waste your money on the metal gears. They cost like $500 whereas odometer gears cost $120. If the electronics are shot then neither would fix the problem so you would have wasted 500 instead of 120...just saying

Sorry again to thread jack your FS thread OP.
