vs. 997.2 GT3
Hello everyone, in my last thread I posed the idea of trading my e92 M3 in for the new 981 Cayman S. However, now the 997.2 GT3 is on my radar because its the last breed of manual GT3s. I know its crazy, but the GT3 would serve both DD and track duties if I were to do the trade. Any and all thoughts are welcome as I weigh this decision.

I used to have a 08 m3 sedan, now daily a 550. I spent way too much on cars.
Also have a yellow gt3 2010 that just sits in the garage. Amazing car. Not a good daily ....too low, too loud. In a weird Way my 03 s2000 is a better daily. Get the car if you can With another car for a daily driver imo. I autocross the gt3 kinda frequently. No track, but A6's up the wazoo. You need a Big mother of a torque wrench for the center locks |

Again IMO weekend car YES. Daily driver no. Car is not good with steep driveways curbs etc. My car has a front axel lift and it isn't because it's a practical dd....it has a front lift because sometimes without it ...I might scrape the crap out of the front lip and the front clip

Had a 997 GT3.
IMO, it's a terrible daily driver. Way too loud, way too low, too much camber. It had Pagid yellows which took a long time to heat up an Pilot cups which were a little scary in cold or wet weather. |

As long as you dont need the practicality whilst being used as a DD then I think you need to just do it, like now!
EDIT: ok to be a bit more sensible if you are going to be in stop start traffic for a legnthy amount of time then perhaps may not be the best but Ive convinced myself that despite that its still a good idea!

OP, I am leaning in the same direction as you.
However, it will be a weekend and track-only car for me. I'm just waiting for the 997.2 prices to drop a bit more - as they currently stand, they are a bit too steep. |

LOL I should say the M3 is good Metallica, like Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.
