Partial filter rattle fix!

So for fun tonight I threw my OEM paper back in to just remind myself of the difference in sound between it and the BMC. I think its fun every now and again to go back to stock and fall in love with a mod over again. Wish I could do it with my exhaust more easily for fun!

Anyway, since everyone is talking about this "rattle" with aftermarket filters, just for kicks I decided to rule out the possibility that it is a slight fitment issue or something with the filters that are producing some of the extra noise.

So basically took black electrical tape and where the penis-vagina connection is, I wrapped a few pieces tightly around there 360 degrees and really got it snug.

THrew the lid back on and it actually eliminated more than I thought. I stand corrected as I do believe part of the "rattle" is indeed a rattle. Most likely it is from the metal mesh these filters use and the fact the filter is a tad loose and can move around so when air pours in it creats more noise.

However there is also a resonance of the ITB as I have always said.

However took it out and it REALLY cuts back on some of the extra "rattly" noise without cutting induction noise. Made it sound a bit more of a clean howl. Test it out yourself but I like the remaining resonance sound even better now that it is clear without the backgroud rattle sound. Not sure if that all makes sense.

Easy mod obviously and worth it IMO.
