How are the '08 E90 M3's selling...

with the LCI '09's coming? Are they moving at all compared to the E92/93's or are dealers sitting on them? I'm looking for a quality negotiating tactic.

I picked up mine 2 weeks ago for $500 over invoice. I think it took all of 2 emails to negotiate the deal. I was surprised that dealers were willing to drop down on DCT's. I found only 3 on the east coast that weren't spoken for. I had been debating for months on whether to get one or not. I don't know what I was waiting for because the car is silly! I definitely recommend one.

Their goal is to get back to "Wait in line and pay MSRP" rather than cheap leases and incentives. Nonetheless, I got my e90 M3 far below MSRP and love the car very much.
I sure hope they won't take that step towards "ignorance" and go back to "Wait line and pay MSRP". One thing I thought about that if they are not selling M3s' during these tough economic downturns, and there are plenty of M3s' sitting on the dealers lots, what makes them think that they will sell M3's by "wait in line" method? Can someone explain that to me. If MSRP is not being paid now, nor it will be in the future.

I think that there's no way back to 7-8000 M3's sold in the USA every year, so BMW could adjust itself to a new reality of perhaps 2500-3500 yearly but at MSRP...

That within a couple of months of introduction the E92 M3 was selling below MSRP and that 3 months after that you can get one at $7-$8000 below at least tell me that the main customer base almost disappeared, and only the core customer is alive... and getting the best and last discounts to be seen.

Here you can see what a missing "well" is doing to a question.

Best regards, south

I just purchased an E90 DCT for MSRP. I had the first DCT E90 delivered in my area and there are no more at this time. There are several 6MT E90/92 at the lot, 2 of 5 spoken for. Personally, it is not worth my time to haggle with a dealer for a thousand dollars. If it were possible to sit there for a few weeks of negotiating to save $10,000, I may be up for the battle. Hopefully, when I go back to the dealer for the 3rd and 4th car, they will give me better deals.

On a side note, my dealer has taken my 2007 335i, detailed the car and are selling the car for me on their lot and asking for no compensation in return. They really have gone out of their way to help me out.

Now that is service. It seems that everywhere besides SoCal there is a positive interaction with the clientelle. It is unfortunate that SoCal BMW dealers/service centers can't see this though.

I have known these guys for a couple of years and have established a good relationship with the staff. It helps to be a good customer as well.

Same dealers, same complaints. Some of the SoCal ones are really good, unfortunately if people keep buying cars from those with poor service, they'll never change for the better.
